Finnmarksløpet Husky Experience

This five-hour experience is for anyone who wants to delve deeper into the world of dog sledding. You’ll start by being kitted out with the necessary equipment and briefed on the adventure ahead. You’ll then set off in pairs per sled (driver and passenger) to guide your team of Alaskan Huskies for three hours along the original route of the Finnmarksløpet, Europe’s longest and toughest dog sled race. The route follows the frozen Alta River as it winds its way towards the plateau. Along the way, you’ll stop for a break and enjoy a warm outdoor lunch cooked over an open fire, accompanied by stories from the race and life in the north. For an additional fee, this tour can also be arranged for a private group. Children aged 13 to 15 sit on the sled and are allowed to drive under the guide’s supervision. The minimum age for driving solo is 16.
