Short Getaway with Huskies and Reindeer in Norway: The itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and dog sled ride
You will be picked up in the center of Alta at around 14:15 and drive to the husky lodge. On arrival, the first adventure awaits you immediately after you have been kitted out with winter suits, hats, gloves and boots. After a short safety briefing, you will go dogsledding and glide through the wintry landscape with your own husky team! On this tour, you drive a dog sled in pairs of two and can take turns driving. You are on the road for around 60 minutes and can experience the untouched nature of Norway up close. After this exciting activity, which lasts around two and a half hours, you check into your comfortable Forest Suite, where you can relax. In the evening, you will enjoy a delicious two-course dinner, followed by a soothing time in the jacuzzi and sauna to end the day in a relaxed manner.

Day 2: Sami experience, northern lights hunt and a night in a snow igloo hotel
The second day begins with a hearty breakfast to give you energy for the adventures ahead. Immediately afterwards, you will be transferred to the Snow Igloo Hotel for a unique Sami and reindeer experience, where you will once again be kitted out with winter suits, hats, gloves and winter boots if the weather conditions require it. Enjoy an approx. 3 km reindeer sleigh ride and the stories about the long tradition of reindeer herding told by the Sami guide. After this fascinating experience in the morning, you will be served a delicious lunch and have a free afternoon before you can look forward to an early delicious 3-course dinner in the evening. Afterwards, the exciting hunt for the Northern Lights begins. During the tour, the guide will tell you stories about the Northern Lights and the places you visit. Pack a camera and take photos of the dancing colorful lights! Your guide can help you find the best settings for your own shots. During the tour you will be offered snacks and hot drinks to keep you warm and energized.

Day 3: Departure
Start the last day of your adventure with a relaxing sauna in the morning, followed by a hearty breakfast before you unfortunately have to pack your bags and check out of the snow igloo hotel. You will be transferred back to the city center or Alta airport, where you can travel home with many new memories of your Arctic adventure or extend your stay on your own.

Holmen Husky Lodge offers a cozy and authentic atmosphere where you can relax after an exciting day. The Forest Suites are tastefully decorated and offer a comfortable retreat. The suite has large windows so you can look forward to breathtaking views of nature and watching the night sky and northern lights. You will also find a bedroom with a king-size bed, a bathroom and a modern living room. If there are more than 2 people staying in one suite, a sofa bed will be prepared for the extra person. At the Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel you can expect a unique overnight stay in a hotel built of ice and snow, offering you an unforgettable experience. Both accommodations are ideally located to enjoy the beauty of the Arctic nature to the fullest.

The price refers to accommodation per person based on an occupancy of two people. There is a surcharge for single travelers and a reduction for children under 12 years.
