Once you arrive in Alta, you will be collected from the airport and taken the short distance out to the farm. Once you have dropped off your belongings and had a chance to freshen up, a delicious dinner with local dishes awaits you. Afterwards, it's worth taking a look at the night sky. The Northern Lights may be up there, welcoming you to the far north. The travel services start with transfer and dinner on the first day and end with breakfast and return transfer on the last day.

After a hearty breakfast, you will receive an introduction to the itinerary, safety and driving a dog sled. Then you will finally meet the huskies who will accompany you on your multi-day tour. Once all preparations have been made, you will be setting out on your amazing dog sledding tour. With your knowledgeable guide leading you, you can expect to drive your husky team for several hours through the snowy countryside every day, stopping for lunch on the way. Each morning and evening, you will spend time taking care of your dogs and showing them affection for their hard work. After everything is done, you can relax with dinner, drinks and conversation about what you have experienced.
You will spend the nights in the Suolovopmi Mountain Lodge, which has been visited by mushers for generations. On day 3, the sauna is available for you to warm up and relax in.
Day 4: Back to civilisation
On day four, you will travel back to your pickup point, where you, your husky team and the equipment will be transferred back to Holmen Husky Lodge to eat a final dinner and reminisce about your amazing experience. After a few beautiful but exhausting days, this is also the perfect time for a visit to the sauna or jacuzzi. Stay overnight in a Forest Suite to prepare yourself for your journey home.
Day 5: Farewell to the far north
Your trip ends today after a last breakfast and a farewell to the dogs. A transfer will take you back to the airport in Alta. You will take many great memories of your husky expedition in beautiful Norway with you.

Additional Information:
The safety of our guests and animals is our top priority on all of our tours. The far north can have fluctuating and unpredictable weather with very strong temperature differences. Whilst we strive to follow the planned trails as closely as possible, we reserve the right to change the order of activities, the route of safaris, and the intensity of the excursions should the needs of our guests or animals necessitate it, or if the weather conditions compromise our pre-planned route. This involves both adjustments due to insufficient snow (meaning we cannot drive the sleds) or too much snow (snowstorms and extreme cold can cause accidents and various other problems). The required adjustments and fallback options in rare cases are based on the day-to-day conditions and can be compensated by shorter or longer daily stages, alternative accommodations, or even single day trips. In extremely rare cases we may organise alternative transport (ie. cars, quad bikes, etc). Feel free to contact us if you would like a more detailed assessment of this tour and travel period.
Note: We recommend booking additional categories and guided activities directly with the tour package (several weeks or months before arrival), as these may be fully booked at the time of travel. Some activities are only available on certain dates and not for the entire season.
