Arctic Adventure in Norway: The itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and dog sled ride
You will be picked up in the center of Alta at around 14:15 and drive to the husky Lodge. The first adventure awaits you on arrival, after you have been kitted out with winter suits, hats, gloves and boots. After a short safety briefing, you will go dogsledding and glide through the wintry landscape with your own husky team! On this tour, you drive a dog sled in pairs of two and can take turns driving. You are on the road for around 60 minutes and can experience the untouched nature of Norway up close. After this exciting activity, which lasts around two and a half hours, you check into your comfortable Forest Suite, where you can relax. In the evening, you will enjoy a delicious two-course dinner, followed by a soothing time in the jacuzzi and sauna to end the day in a relaxed manner.

Day 2: Snowmobile adventure and northern lights hunt
The second day begins with a hearty breakfast to give you energy for the adventures ahead. Immediately afterwards, you will be transferred to the Snow Igloo Hotel, from where you will set off on an exciting snowmobile tour on the Finnmark plateau. After receiving your winter equipment and a safety briefing, you will set off on a tour of around 35 km, which offers beautiful views of the snow-covered mountains. Please note that a valid driving license is required to drive a snowmobile yourself. You will ride in pairs on a snowmobile and can take turns driving. After an exciting morning, a delicious meal is served at lunchtime before you can look forward to a delicious 3-course dinner in the evening. Then the exciting hunt for the Northern Lights begins. During the tour, the guide will tell you stories about the Northern Lights and the places you visit. Pack a camera and take photos of the dancing colorful lights! Your guide can help you find the best settings for your own shots. During the tour you will be offered snacks and hot drinks to keep you warm and energized.
Day 3: Sami experience and departure
Start the last day of your adventure with a relaxing sauna in the morning, followed by a hearty breakfast to fortify you for the day's activities. In the morning, a unique Sami and reindeer experience awaits you, where you will once again be kitted out with winter suits, hats, gloves and winter boots if the weather conditions require it. Enjoy an approx. 3 km reindeer sleigh ride, followed by stories told by a Sami guide in a traditional lavvu, while enjoying snacks and hot drinks. After this fascinating experience, check out and transfer back to Alta city center or Alta airport, where you can travel home with many new memories of your Arctic adventure or extend your stay on your own.
Accommodation:
Holmen Husky Lodge offers a cozy and authentic atmosphere where you can relax after an exciting day. The Forest Suites are tastefully decorated and offer a comfortable retreat. The suite has large windows so you can look forward to breathtaking views of nature and watching the night sky and northern lights. You will also find a bedroom with a king-size bed, a bathroom and a modern living room. If there are more than 2 people staying in one suite, a sofa bed will be prepared for the extra person. At the Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel you can expect a unique overnight stay in a hotel built of ice and snow, offering you an unforgettable experience. Both accommodations are ideally located to enjoy the beauty of the Arctic nature to the fullest.
The price refers to accommodation per person based on an occupancy of two people. There is a surcharge for single travelers and a reduction for children under 12 years.

You will receive the exact order of activities once you arrive on site. The far north can have fluctuating and unpredictable weather with very strong temperature differences. This involves both adjustments due to insufficient snow (meaning we cannot drive the sleds) or too much snow (snowstorms and extreme cold can cause accidents and various other problems). The required adjustments and fallback options in rare cases are based on the day-to-day conditions and can be compensated by shorter or longer daily stages, alternative accommodations, or even single day trips. In extremely rare cases we may organise alternative transport (ie. cars, quad bikes, etc). Habe ein wunderschönes Wochenende dort verbracht. Die Betreuung seitens der Guides war sehr gut. Der Umgang mit den Hunden und das Fahren mit dem Schlitten wurde uns erklärt. Vermisst habe ich, dass wir im wesentlichen hintereinander her gefahren und dem Leitschlitten gefolgt sind. Kommandos zur Steuerung des Hundeteams haben wir nicht erhalten. Dennoch kommen Hundefreunde voll auf ihre Kosten. Die Unterbringung in der Lodge war angenehm, Tipis, Aufenthaltsräume, Sanitäranlagen, Sauna machen einen neuen und gut gepflegten Eindruck und machen den Aufenthalt angenehm. Das Personal ist aufmerksam und sehr freundlich. Einziger wirklicher Kritikpunkt: Das Essen. Der ganztägige Aufenthalt an der frischen Luft macht hungrig und die wirklich schmackhaft zubereiteten Speisen wurden in Mengen serviert, die sicherlich die meisten Teilnehmer hungrig vom Tisch aufstehen ließen.
