Reindeer Farm Visit

During this experience, which lasts around 2.5 hours, you’ll delve deeper into Finnish traditions and visit a family-run reindeer farm – now in its seventh generation – situated about 20 minutes from the hotel. Once there, the farmer himself will accompany you and guide you through the history of reindeer herding, which has always been, and remains, closely linked to the way of life of the Sámi, Europe’s only indigenous people. You’ll gain fascinating insights into this ancient tradition and learn more about daily life with the animals. Of course, there’ll also be time to get to know the reindeer and feed them. You’ll also visit a small house museum, which offers a unique insight into Finnish culture. To round off the experience, you’ll gather around the fire and enjoy a warm drink and a light snack while your host shares stories from his life and the region.
