Arctic elegance with Auroras and winter scenes: the itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Settling In
After your arrival, you will be picked up from Kittilä or Enontekiö Airport and transferred to your hotel. There, you will check into your suite and can familiarize yourself with your new surroundings at your own pace. In the evening, you will enjoy a welcome dinner featuring Arctic-inspired flavors, before the first quiet night allows for relaxation.

Day 2: Reindeer and Snowmobile Safari
After breakfast, the focus shifts to Lapland's traditions and the tranquil rhythm of the North. You will visit an authentic reindeer farm and museum and set out on a reindeer safari through the winter landscape, moving at the animals' own pace and with plenty of time to take in the scenery. Duration: 2 h; reindeer safari: 1 km.
Back at the hotel, you can look forward to lunch and afternoon tea. This is followed by a snowmobile safari, which begins with a safety briefing. In pairs on each snowmobile, you will set off on a tour through varied terrain, with stops along the way for photos and the guide's stories. Duration: 2 h; distance: 20 - 30 km. The time before dinner is yours to spend as you wish. How about a few relaxing hours in the spa area?
Day 3: Husky Tour and Snowshoeing Moments
The day begins with a leisurely breakfast before you are taken by snowmobile sled to a nearby husky farm. Once there, you will be given a short briefing to start with and then set off on a husky tour across frozen lakes and marshes and through the white winter forest (2 people/sled). Duration: 2 h; safari distance: 4 - 6 km (Dec) or 8 - 12 km (Jan - Mar). Enjoy lunch and afternoon tea at the hotel afterwards.
Later in the day, after a transfer, a snowshoe hike in the national park leads you along snow-covered trails that would be inaccessible without this special footwear (duration: 2.5 h).
Your day will be rounded off with a farewell dinner and a special nighttime experience: depending on the season, you will travel to a carefully chosen location on foot or by sled that offers not only an unobstructed view of the sky, but also undisturbed silence and privacy. On arrival, you will be greeted by a warm fire and hot drinks and light bites will be prepared for you. Make yourself comfortable and keep your eyes on the sky: if conditions are right, hopefully the beautiful Northern Lights will appear above your heads. Duration: 2 h.
Day 4: Farewell to Lapland
In the morning, you’ll enjoy breakfast one last time before a transfer takes you back to the airport. You're sure to look back fondly on your wonderful time in the far north for a long time to come.
Accommodation:
You will be staying at the brand-new Arcora Boutique Hotel, which is set to open this winter near the town of Muonio in Finnish Lapland and is part of the well-known and popular Harriniva Hotels & Safari Group. The suites and villas are built close to nature and offer stunning views of the surrounding landscape, including the sky—ideal for viewing the Northern Lights when conditions are right. All room categories are located either directly in the hotel or in separate villas on the hotel grounds. In addition to a lobby bar with a bakery and the “Restaurant 8,” a champagne bar and spa lounge await you. The latter also serves as the reception for the spa, which features a panoramic terrace, an outdoor infinity pool, a cold-dip pool, an outdoor jacuzzi, and three saunas. The hotel also has a gym.
The standard accommodation is the Junior Suite Kalle. Enjoy the unobstructed view of nature and the night sky right from your bed—on clear nights, you may even catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights. For an additional fee, you can also stay in other suites and villas, some of which feature their own scenic-view sauna and outdoor jacuzzi. Please feel free to contact us if you’re interested.
Important information:
Please note that you must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driver’s license to operate a snowmobile. Children up to the age of 14 take part in a sled pulled by the guide's snowmobile. From the age of 15, children may ride as passengers behind a parent or in the guide's snowmobile sled. The maximum self-liability is 1200 € per driver/snowmobile/accident case.
Children aged 12 and over can normally drive a husky team themselves, depending on their height. Children aged between 7 and 11 sit on the guide's sled. Whether a child is allowed to drive themselves is always at the discretion of the guide on site.
During both the snowmobile and husky safaris, you will share a snowmobile or sled in pairs and take turns driving. For an additional fee, you can participate as a solo driver (please let us know before arrival).
Meals:
Your stay includes full board, comprising a breakfast served at your table consisting of cold dishes and warm plates prepared to order, lunch, and an Arctic afternoon tea. In the evening, Restaurant 8 serves a high-quality 3- to 4-course dinner.
Additional Information:
The order of tours and activities within this itinerary may vary due to weather conditions and other contributing factors that must be taken into account by the guides when planning your tour. You will receive the exact order of activities once you arrive on site. The far north can have fluctuating and unpredictable weather with very strong temperature differences. The safety of guests and animals comes first, and for this reason, we reserve the right to change the itinerary and intensity of activities if and when needed. This involves both adjustments due to insufficient snow (meaning we cannot drive the sleds) or too much snow (snowstorms and extreme cold can cause accidents and various other problems). The required adjustments and fallback options in rare cases are based on the day-to-day conditions and can be compensated by shorter or longer daily stages, alternative accommodations, or even single day trips. In extremely rare cases we may organise alternative transport (ie. cars, quad bikes, etc). Feel free to contact us if you would like a more detailed assessment of this tour and travel period. Optional activities have very limited availability; we recommend booking them well in advance, often weeks or months before departure, as they may be fully booked by the time of travel.
