Arctic elegance with Auroras and winter scenes: the itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Settling In
After your arrival, you will be picked up from Kittilä Airport and transferred to your hotel. Day 2: Snowmobile Safari and Husky Tour
The day begins with a leisurely breakfast. This is followed by both a snowmobile safari and a husky tour, each including a briefing, appropriate gear, and a guided route through varied terrain. Along the way, there will be time for stops, photos, and stories from the guide. Back at the hotel, a warm lunch awaits you. Afterwards you can spend the hours exactly as you want, maybe by making use of the spa area. In the evening, a cozy dinner rounds out the day.
Day 3: Reindeer and Snowshoeing Moments
After breakfast, the focus shifts to Lapland’s traditions and the tranquil rhythm of the North. You’ll visit an authentic reindeer farm, learn about daily life and local history, and then set out on a reindeer safari through the winter landscape, with quiet breaks and time for observation. Later, a guided snowshoe hike takes you into snow-covered routes that would be inaccessible without special equipment. Afternoon tea and dinner bring the day to a warm close.
Day 4: Farewell to Lapland
In the morning, you’ll enjoy breakfast one last time before joining your guide for a relaxing hour of silence, mindfulness, and connection with nature, culture, and yourself. A fitting conclusion to your journey. A warm lunch will be served in the afternoon, followed by the transfer back to the airport.
Accommodation:
You will be staying at the brand-new Arcora Boutique Hotel, which is set to open this winter near the town of Muonio in Finnish Lapland and is part of the well-known and popular Harriniva Hotels & Safari Group. The suites and villas are built close to nature and offer stunning views of the surrounding landscape, including the sky—ideal for viewing the Northern Lights when conditions are right. All room categories are located either directly in the hotel or in separate villas on the hotel grounds. In addition to a lobby bar with a bakery and the “Restaurant 8,” a champagne bar and spa lounge await you. The latter also serves as the reception for the spa, which features a panoramic terrace, an outdoor infinity pool, a cold-dip pool, an outdoor jacuzzi, and three saunas. The hotel also has a gym.
The standard accommodation is the Junior Suite Kalle. Enjoy the unobstructed view of nature and the night sky right from your bed—on clear nights, you may even catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights. For an additional fee, you can also stay in other suites and villas, some of which feature their own scenic-view sauna and outdoor jacuzzi. Please feel free to contact us if you’re interested.
Important information:
Please note that you must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driver’s license to operate a snowmobile. During both the snowmobile and husky safaris, you will share a snowmobile or sled in pairs and take turns driving. For an additional fee, you can participate in the snowmobile safari as a solo driver (please let us know before arrival).
Meals:
This trip includes full board, consisting of breakfast, afternoon tea / late lunch, and 3- to 4-course dinner.
Additional Information:
The order of tours and activities within this itinerary may vary due to weather conditions and other contributing factors that must be taken into account by the guides when planning your tour. You will receive the exact order of activities once you arrive on site. The far north can have fluctuating and unpredictable weather with very strong temperature differences. The safety of guests and animals comes first, and for this reason, we reserve the right to change the itinerary and intensity of activities if and when needed. This involves both adjustments due to insufficient snow (meaning we cannot drive the sleds) or too much snow (snowstorms and extreme cold can cause accidents and various other problems). The required adjustments and fallback options in rare cases are based on the day-to-day conditions and can be compensated by shorter or longer daily stages, alternative accommodations, or even single day trips. In extremely rare cases we may organise alternative transport (ie. cars, quad bikes, etc). Feel free to contact us if you would like a more detailed assessment of this tour and travel period. Optional activities have very limited availability; we recommend booking them well in advance, often weeks or months before departure, as they may be fully booked by the time of travel.
