"Authentic dog-powered adventures in northern Sweden with a small, family-run husky pack. No racing or pressure — just nature, personal experiences and plenty of time with the dogs."
SKIMATE was born from a shared passion for huskies, outdoor life and the landscapes of the far north. After years of travelling, hiking, skiing and exploring Scandinavia with their own dogs, the founders made northern Sweden their home in 2025. Today, they live close to nature with a small pack of Siberian and Alaskan huskies.
Unlike traditional racing kennels or large-scale husky operations, SKIMATE deliberately keeps things small and personal. The focus is not on speed, competition or the stopwatch, but on enjoying activities together with the dogs and giving guests the time to connect with them. The philosophy is simple: no stopwatch, just pleasure.
Depending on the season and conditions, activities include dog sledding, ski joering, canine hiking, scootering, mountain biking with dogs and ski-pulka adventures. Guests can discover the surrounding wilderness independently using provided GPX trails or join guided outings to learn more about dog-powered activities and the local landscape.
SKIMATE is also particularly welcoming to travellers who want to experience northern Sweden with their own dog. Visitors can discover dog-powered activities in a relaxed environment, without competitive ambitions or pressure. Those travelling without a dog are equally welcome and can spend time with SKIMATE’s own pack.
With only a small number of dogs and a strong emphasis on their wellbeing, SKIMATE offers an intimate alternative to conventional husky tourism. The experience is centred around everyday life with the dogs, outdoor activities and the forests and snowy landscapes of northern Sweden.
