Look forward to a time full of activities and adventures! Try your hand at snowmobiling and dog sledding, enjoy Lapland delicacies and clear nights under the stars, and be awed by the beauty of the winter landscape and its unspoiled nature. This trip includes everything you could wish for in the far north! And if not, you can simply add more activities to your stay on your days off.
Day 1: Arrival
You will be picked up at Luleå Airport or train station. The drive to the lodge takes only about 40 minutes. Once you have arrived you can settle in and relax. You will receive your warm winter clothes and in the evening a delicious 3-course dinner awaits you in the restaurant. Afterwards you will get some tips where you can catch a glimpse of the northern lights later in the evening with a little luck.
Day 2: Husky tour
After breakfast, the first adventure starts right away: you will drive to a nearby husky farm, where the friendly dogs are already waiting full of anticipation to pull you on the sleds through the beautiful winter landscape for about one and a half hours. Huskies love the cold winter climate in Swedish Lapland and are perfectly adapted to the cold, ice and snow.
After an introduction, safety briefing and information about the upcoming activity, you and a partner will learn to steer the husky team and guide it along a forest and lake trail. Along the way, you can enjoy the scenery and the thrill of driving a husky team. During the stops, you will have plenty of time to take photos and take turns driving. The guide will inform you about the life of a musher in the icy north, the dogs and the Arctic nature around you.
Back at the lodge, you can relax comfortably at dinner and with a little luck, the northern lights will dance in the night sky above you tonight.

Day 3: Aurora snowshoe hike
Start your day with a long and rich breakfast, before you can decide on what you want to do during the day yourself. Under "Extras" you will find all the options for additional activities.
Have a good rest in the afternoon, because tonight it's straight on to the next adventure: together with a guide, you'll go on an approx. 3-hour walk with snowshoes in the surrounding forests. Hopefully, if conditions are right, you'll be able to see northern lights along the way. You will discuss the science behind the Aurora Borealis and get tips on how to best photograph them. Along the way, you'll take a break and learn how to light a fire in the snow. Dinner will be prepared outdoors by the guide and enjoyed sitting on reindeer furs under the stars. You can't get any closer to nature!
Day 4: Free day
You can organise today according to your own ideas. Look forward to your breakfast before setting off on one of many possible additional activities (at an extra charge). How about a traditional activity such as ice fishing? You could also try your hand at cross-country skiing or take part in another husky tour instead. Dinner awaits you again today in the restaurant. If you want something a little more special, you can also book a Northern Lights dinner in the mobile Aurora Hideaway Restaurant.
Day 5: Snowmobile safari into the woods
Today, after breakfast, an approximately two-hour snowmobile tour (2 persons per snowmobile, single use possible for an extra charge) awaits you through the snowy forests of Luleå, over the frozen sea and lakes. This activity will take you to some of the most beautiful places in the area with great views and the possibility to see wildlife.
At the beginning, you will receive some safety instructions and background information about what you will experience afterwards. The main focus is on the nature, the people and the culture and history of the region.
Along the narrow trails you will stop regularly to enjoy the silence of the Arctic nature and take turns driving. Over tea and coffee, the tour guide will tell you about the surroundings and his way of life here in the far north.
Day 6: Visit the Sami and their reindeer
After breakfast, you will meet a local Sami, who will give you interesting insights into his culture. You will visit his reindeer and learn more about working with these animals and nature in general. Then, you will go on a short walk with the reindeer to a traditional tent, where you will enjoy a cup of tea by the warm fire and continue the conversation over lunch. After this informative excursion, you will return to the lodge. There you can relax until dinner.
Day 7: Free Day
After the last exciting and varied days, there is nothing on the program today. Enjoy your breakfast in peace and decide for yourself what you would like to do today - or not! Feel free to relax on your last day and savour the tranquillity of the snowy nature one last time before packing your bags.
Day 8: Departure
Depending on your departure time, you can still relax at the lodge and enjoy the ambience before you are transferred to the train station or airport on time for your journey. There you can say goodbye with many new impressions and wonderful memories before you start your journey back home.
Accommodation:
On this tour you will stay at either Brändön or Pine Bay Lodge.
The main building of Brändön Lodge is a log house that accommodates a restaurant, a lounge and relaxation area. Surrounding the main building are several log cabins overlooking the sea and the Luleå archipelago. Each cabin has been recently renovated and has a bathroom, two bedrooms with two single beds in each, a lounge and a covered veranda. The twin beds in one room can be pushed together to form a double bed.
The Pine Bay Lodge is like a small hotel with standard double rooms, a restaurant, a cozy lounge with a large fireplace and a sauna that you can book privately to complete the Swedish lifestyle.
If you wish, you can book additional nights and activities (see "Extras"). Feel free to contact us for this!
Note:
To drive a snowmobile, you have to be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver's license. Please note that children can only ride on the snowmobile and drive their own husky team if they are of a certain size and age. This is at the discretion of the guide. Smaller and younger children will be sitting in the guide's sledge during the tours.
Additional Information:
The order of tours and activities within this itinerary may vary due to weather conditions and other contributing factors that must be taken into account by the guides when planning your tour. You will receive the exact order of activities once you arrive on site. The far north can have fluctuating and unpredictable weather with very strong temperature differences. The safety of guests and animals comes first, and for this reason, we reserve the right to change the itinerary and intensity of activities if and when needed. This involves both adjustments due to insufficient snow (meaning we cannot drive the sleds) or too much snow (snowstorms and extreme cold can cause accidents and various other problems). The required adjustments and fallback options in rare cases are based on the day-to-day conditions and can be compensated by shorter or longer daily stages, alternative accommodations, or even single day trips. In extremely rare cases we may organise alternative transport (ie. cars, quad bikes, etc). Feel free to contact us if you would like a more detailed assessment of this tour and travel period. The service providers and tour providers always perform their services in compliance with and in accordance with the official requirements and requirements applicable at the time of stay. For this reason, corona-related reasonable usage rules or restrictions may arise when using said services. Please note these official requirements (Google Translate). Show all dates
