Swedens Highlights with Huskies and Snowmobiles: The Itinerary
Day 1: Travel to Granö and Arrival
After traveling to Granö, you check into your room at the eco hotel or in a hotel cabin. Afterwards, you meet your tour guide during a get together and, if rented, receive suitable outdoor clothing for the coming days. With dinner at the lodge, the tour service begins in a calm atmosphere.

After breakfast, a guided snowshoe tour leads into the surrounding area and provides confidence for your own activities. On the roughly two hour loop, you walk through the winter forest while the tour guide shares knowledge about plants, animals, and their strategies in the cold season. At midday you eat back at the lodge, before the Vidde Electric Snowmobile Safari starts in the afternoon. For around three hours you ride to various good fishing spots on a frozen river and frozen lakes, keep an eye out for animal tracks, and enjoy a break outside by the fire with coffee and conversation. Afterwards you return to the lodge for dinner.
Day 3, Half Day Husky Sled Ride and Free Time
In the morning, breakfast will fortify you, followed by the half day husky sled ride with a total of about three hours outdoors. Two people share a sled, and depending on age and size, children ride as passengers together with an adult accompanying person. The trails can be uneven, so a clear briefing is the priority, so that everyone feels comfortable at their own pace. After lunch at the lodge, there is free time before the day ends with dinner at the lodge.
Day 4: Departure After Breakfast
After breakfast, the tour services end. Afterwards, you will begin your departure from Granö.
Accommodation:
In Granö, you stay either in a cabin or in the eco hotel. Included are 3 nights with breakfast, plus 3 two course dinners and 2 lunches. The lodge is also the meeting point for meals and for organizing the excursions. Cleaning of the accommodation and towel changes are available on request, otherwise regularly every second day.
Special features:
On the tours, two people share a husky sled or a snowmobile. For the husky sled ride, age and size rules apply. To drive yourself, participants must be at least 15 years old, around 155 cm tall, and weigh at least 50 kg. Children under 3 are not allowed to participate. Children aged 3 to 9, or under 120 cm, ride as passengers with an accompanying adult, and only one younger child is allowed per two adults. For younger children, there is also a temperature limit of minus 18 degrees. Pregnant guests are advised not to join the husky tour, as the route can be uneven and there is a risk of tipping. A driving license is required to drive a snowmobile. The snowmobiles are insured, but depending on the local rules and insurance, deductibles or liability limits apply in case of damage. The provider text mentions a maximum liability of 6,000 SEK (with advance payment up to 6,000 SEK) and elsewhere a deductible of 15,000 SEK. Please have the binding conditions confirmed in writing before booking, or at the latest on site. The trip takes place in winter, so weather conditions may require adjustments to the schedule.
Additional Information:
The order of tours and activities within this itinerary may vary due to weather conditions and other contributing factors that must be taken into account by the guides when planning your tour. You will receive the exact order of activities once you arrive on site. The far north can have fluctuating and unpredictable weather with very strong temperature differences. The safety of guests and animals comes first, and for this reason, we reserve the right to change the itinerary and intensity of activities if and when needed. This involves both adjustments due to insufficient snow (meaning we cannot drive the sleds) or too much snow (snowstorms and extreme cold can cause accidents and various other problems). The required adjustments and fallback options in rare cases are based on the day-to-day conditions and can be compensated by shorter or longer daily stages, alternative accommodations, or even single day trips. In extremely rare cases we may organise alternative transport (ie. cars, quad bikes, etc). Feel free to contact us if you would like a more detailed assessment of this tour and travel period. Optional activities have very limited availability; we recommend booking them well in advance, often weeks or months before departure, as they may be fully booked by the time of travel.
Note: We recommend booking additional categories and guided activities directly with the tour package (several weeks or months before arrival), as these may be fully booked at the time of travel. Some activities are only available on certain dates and not for the entire season.

31.12.2023 - Traumhaftes Erlebnis
