Weekend trip with Huskies and Northern Lights: The Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival
Once you arrive at Umeå Airport in the afternoon there will be someone waiting to warmly welcome you. After you have picked up your luggage you drive just over an hour to the lodge where your adventure begins. There you will check into your comfortable rooms and end the day with a delicious dinner.
Day 2: Husky tour through the Swedish winter landscape
After a nice long breakfast the first highlight of the trip awaits you today: an approximately three-hour husky sled tour through the Swedish wilderness. You will meet the cheerful huskies who can't wait to go on an exciting tour through snow-covered forest, over hills and frozen lakes and swamps with you. You'll get some instructions and after that hopp on the runners of your sled and off you go! You'll share a sled in pairs and can take turns driving. Along the way, you'll stop for a break and have a snack before getting back on the sled's runners and heading back to the husky farm. In the evening, you will again be served a lovingly prepared 2-course menu and can then take a few steps into the darkness to look out for the Northern Lights.

Day 3: Snowshoeing and Northern Lights
Beginn the day with breakfast and relax for example in the sauna that you can book for private sessions or explore the surroundings on your own for example on cross country skis or snowshoes (you can rent them on the spot) before taking a 2-3 hour long fascinating snowshoe hike in the evening, meanwhile looking out for the stunning Northern Lights. Enjoy a warm drink and some fika while you wait for this magical natural phenomenon. If there are northern lights that evening, you have the best chance of seeing them up close from where there is no light pollution!
Day 4: Departure
The last day starts with breakfast before you unfortunately have to pack your things and say goodbye. A transfer will take you back to Umeå airport or city, from where you will start your journey home with many new, incomparable memories in your luggage.

Accommodation:
The lodge is located in a small village in the wilderness of Northern Lapland. It is located directly on the quiet river Umeå. The standard accommodation on this trip is double rooms in the eco-hotel or small cabins for up to four people. These are equipped with comfortable beds, toilet and shower with towels. Each room has a TV, kettle, tea and coffee. The cabins also have a small kitchenette and, in addition to a double bed that can be pushed apart to make two single beds, a sofa bed. Wifi is available throughout the premises. All rooms are non-smoking. If you wish, you can spend a night in an Aurora tree house during your stay (extra charge, see "Extras").
Note:
To drive a snowmobile you must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver's license.
To be allowed to drive a dog sled themselves, children must usually be at least 15 years old. Children between the ages of 6 and 10 ride together with an adult as a passenger on the sled. From the age of 10 and a minimum height of 120 cm, children may sit alone on a sled driven by an adult. If you have several children under the age of 15, please discuss this with us when booking.

You will receive the exact order of activities once you arrive on site. The far north can have fluctuating and unpredictable weather with very strong temperature differences. The safety of guests and animals comes first, and for this reason, we reserve the right to change the itinerary and intensity of activities if and when needed. This involves both adjustments due to insufficient snow (meaning we cannot drive the sleds) or too much snow (snowstorms and extreme cold can cause accidents and various other problems). The required adjustments and fallback options in rare cases are based on the day-to-day conditions and can be compensated by shorter or longer daily stages, alternative accommodations, or even single day trips. In extremely rare cases we may organise alternative transport (ie. cars, quad bikes, etc). Bei absoluten Tieftemperaturen um die -30 Grad haben wir viel erlebt. Das Programm war gut durchgeplant. Alle Services vom Grano Beckasin waren top; das Essen lecker und recht gesund, Personal superfreundlich. Bei den Temperaturen ist uns das Wasser eingefroren. Die Verantwortlichen waren schnell mit Lösungen unterwegs - besser ging es unter diesen Umständen nicht! Einziger Wermutstropfen: Mindesalter und Führerschein bei Kindern beachten, sonst wird es nichts mit Schneemobilfahren oder Huskyschlittenlenken.
