Weekend trip with Huskies and Northern Lights

Treat yourself to an eventful break in the far north and experience the natural wonders that this region has to offer! Take part in an adventurous husky sled ride, snowmobile safari and a snowshoe hike through the untouched wilderness, and indulge in a delicious 2-course menu with local delicacies in the evening.

Weekend trip with Huskies and Northern Lights: The Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival
Once you arrive at Umeå Airport or Vindeln train station in the afternoon, there will be someone waiting to warmly welcome you. A transfer will take you just over an hour to the lodge where your adventure begins. There you will check into your comfortable rooms or cottages and end the day with a delicious dinner. The tour services begin with transfer and dinner on the first day and end with breakfast and return transfer on the last day.

Day 2: Snowshoees, snowmobiles & ice fishing
Start the day with breakfast before joining a fascinating snowshoe hike. You will explore the surrounding area and learn interesting facts about the Arctic winter. After 2 hours, you return to the lodge, where lunch is waiting for you. In the afternoon, the adventure continues at a fast pace: you travel by snowmobile (2 persons / snowmobile) through snow-covered landscapes and over frozen rivers and lakes. Your destination are good fishing spots where you can try your hand at ice fishing. Make a fire together and enjoy a Swedish fika (= coffee break). You might even meet a few locals!

Day 3: Husky tour through the Swedish winter landscape
After a nice long breakfast you will go on an approximately three-hour husky sled tour through the Swedish wilderness. Meet the cheerful huskies who can't wait to go on an exciting trip through snow-covered forest, over hills and frozen lakes and swamps with you. You'll get some instructions and after that hopp on the runners of your sled and off you go! You'll share a sled in pairs and can take turns driving. Lunch will be served back at the lodge. Look forward to a lovingly prepared dinner in the evening and then take a few steps into the darkness to look out for the Northern Lights.

Day 4: Departure
The last day starts with breakfast before you unfortunately have to pack your things and say goodbye. A transfer will take you back to Umeå airport or Vindeln train station, from where you will start your journey home with many new, incomparable memories in your luggage.

Accommodation:
The lodge is located in a small village in the wilderness of Northern Lapland and directly on the quiet river Umeå. The standard accommodation on this trip is double rooms in the eco-hotel or small cabins for up to four people. These are equipped with comfortable beds, toilet and shower with towels. Each double room has a TV, kettle, tea and coffee. The cabins have a small kitchenette and, in addition to a double bed that can be pushed apart to make two single beds, a sofa bed. Wifi is available throughout the premises. All rooms and cabins are non-smoking.
During your stay you can use sami ski and snowshoes for free.
If you wish, you can spend a night in an Aurora tree house (extra charge, see "Extras").

Note:
Driving a snowmobile is permitted from the age of 18 and in possession of a valid driving licence. Children who are not allowed to participate as passengers sit in a sledge pulled by the guide's snowmobile. In the event of damage, the excess is max. 6000 SEK (approx. 540 €).
To be allowed to drive a dog sled themselves, children must usually be at least 15 years old. Children between the ages of 6 and 10 ride together with an adult as a passenger on the sled. From the age of 10 and a minimum height of 120 cm, children may sit alone on a sled driven by an adult. If you have several children under the age of 15, please discuss this with us when booking.
