Aurora Safari Camp

The Outpost Lodge, a former grocery store in the village of Mårdsel, is located just below the Arctic Circle in the heart of Swedish Lapland. In total, the lodge has two suites, which are located on the first and ground floor. The suite on the first floor consists of three bedrooms, with single or double beds, a bathroom, a nice living room with a fireplace, a bar, a record player (including a small record collection), a stereo system, several musical instruments such as a guitar and a large flat screen TV. Entertainment is provided by a selection of board games and packs of cards. The ground-floor suite has two large bedrooms, a shared bathroom, a shower, and a dinning/bar/lounge area. In addition to the two suites, the lodge has a Sauna and Relax Room. You can either book the entire lodge exclusively or choose one of the two suites.

Aurora Safari Camp's heated Lapland Cone Rooms are equipped with a glass roof and panoramic windows facing north. This allows you to admire the stunning Northern Lights from the comfort of your own room. In addition, each room has a separate entrance area where you can take off your winter clothes and boots before entering. Moreover, they have a private bathroom with a combustion toilet and sink to provide you with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. The rooms can be flexibly arranged as double or twin rooms.

Aurora Safari Camp has three heated "Tipi Cabins" that have been furnished with great attention to detail. The cabins have a glass veranda facing north, offering a breathtaking view of the landscape and, if you are lucky, the northern lights. To keep the cabins warm, pellet burners are installed in each of them. In addition, each of them has its own bathroom with a combustion toilet and sink to ensure that guests have all the necessities for a comfortable stay. Each Tipi Cabin can accommodate single, double, twin or family bookings, with 3–4 beds in each cabin.

Learn how to photograph at night in this special workshop. After dinner, you'll head north to a location with good visibility, where you'll learn how to photograph in near-dark conditions using manual settings. If the sky is clear, you will have excellent chances to see the Northern Lights. The guides will show you how to prepare for this natural spectacle with the right settings. There is even a chance to photograph the Milky Way and the starry sky! When it's cloudy, the course focuses on low-light photography. Here you will learn how to take pictures of fire or write in the air with torches, among other things. The workshop lasts about 2.5 hours.
