Day 2: Sled Dog Trip through Sweden
You will start each morning with a hearty breakfast, enjoyed with the rest of your tour group. With assistance from your guide, you will take care of your own dogs and get them ready to start your adventures. You will learn how to drive your very own team of 4-5 Alaskan huskies. On the first day of the tour, your husky team will pull you through a breathtakingly beautiful landscape. In the afternoon, you will finally arrive at the first wilderness cabin. Each evening will follow a similar pattern, you will arrive at a new wilderness cabin, where you will care for and feed your hard-working furry friends. Then you will enjoy a traditional Swedish meal with your tour group.
Day 3: Experience the Solitude of Sweden
On day three, you will travel through magical mountain landscapes. Along the trail, you will see the wonders of the arctic landscape, including trees covered by so much snow that they look more like snow sculptures than trees. This part of Lapland is rarely seen by humans and you can easily get the feeling that you have escaped to Narnia or another fairy tale world. In the afternoon, you will arrive at the next cosy wilderness cabin where you will spend the night.
Day 4: Last Trip with the Sled Dogs
The more time you spend together with the dogs, the better you will get to know them and their different personalities. Dog sledding tours are the perfect opportunity to form a bond with these amazing creatures. Mother nature will continue to astound you with amazing views and sights as you travel. On your last day on the sled, you will mush your dog team through an ancient spruce forest on the way back home to your husky camp in Slussfors.
Day 5: Departure
On your last morning, enjoy a hearty breakfast before saying goodbye to your dogs. Now it is also time to say goodbye to your friends in the tour group, as you will be leaving after breakfast. In the luggage: Countless new impressions of this incredible country.
Requirements for the participants:
This sled dog trip is an active holiday and requires a good level of fitness and teamwork. Essential activities such as fetching water, chopping wood, cooking, and the care of dogs are organised and carried out together as a team. All travellers must be able to understand a basic level of English.
Accomodation
The guesthouse where you will stay the night on the day of arrival and the last night before departure, has all facilities with electricity, water, and private sauna. The wilderness cabins have no electricity and no running water, but are comfortably heated with a woodburning stove. Fresh drinking water is taken from a local lake or stream.
Additional Information:
The safety of our guests and animals is our top priority on all of our tours. The far north can have fluctuating and unpredictable weather with very strong temperature differences. Whilst we strive to follow the planned trails as closely as possible, we reserve the right to change the order of activities, the route of safaris, and the intensity of the excursions should the needs of our guests or animals necessitate it, or if the weather conditions compromise our pre-planned route. This involves both adjustments due to insufficient snow (meaning we cannot drive the sleds) or too much snow (snowstorms and extreme cold can cause accidents and various other problems). The required adjustments and fallback options in rare cases are based on the day-to-day conditions and can be compensated by shorter or longer daily stages, alternative accommodations, or even single day trips. In extremely rare cases we may organise alternative transport (ie. cars, quad bikes, etc). Feel free to contact us if you would like a more detailed assessment of this tour and travel period. The service providers and tour providers always perform their services in compliance with and in accordance with the official requirements and requirements applicable at the time of stay. For this reason, corona-related reasonable usage rules or restrictions may arise when using said services. Please note these official requirements (Google Translate).

April 2019 - Incredible Lapland Dogsledding Trip of a Lifetime!
My wife and I gave each of our children a special "14 year old adventure" for their 14th birthdays, and my son wanted to go dogsledding. We searched around on the Internet for places to go, and I found HeyHusky and Petter Karlsson. Everything was very easy to arrange, as Alwin at HeyHusky was extremely responsive and helpful in helping us with flights and transfers to the Lapland. Once there, the experience was unforgettable. From the moment we met our guide, Adam, everything was perfect. The dogs were well taken-care of and flawlessly trained. Being from Colorado, the snow was no problem for us, but neither my son nor I had ever experienced dogsledding before. That was no problem! We were easily taught what we needed to know, and after a brief introduction and initial stay in the base house, we were off the next morning on our adventure. The northern lights in April were amazing! The trip consisted about about 30-50k of sledding each day, and staying in a new hut each night. The huts were warm and well-supplied. We participated in feeding and taking care of the dogs. The second hut even featured a wood-burning stove sauna! The views of the Swedish Lapland were beautiful, and we crossed frozen rivers and lakes multiple times. The photos I took are breathtaking. The food was all homemade, and the meat was from the local farm or from their hunting. The "Magic Moose" was extremely good!. I can't say enough great things about the HeyHusky and Karlsson Sled Dogs experience. My son loved the trip and we will remember it for the rest of our lives.
