After breakfast, you will take a bus to a nearby husky farm where you will learn all about the adorable dogs and their training program. Afterwards you will get to know the happy cuddly animals in person and feel the freedom during an approximately one-hour ride on a dog sled. You will share a sled in pairs. The total duration of this excursion is about four hours. Afterwards you will have the opportunity to relax in the sauna and the big outdoor hot tub. You'll strengthen yourself with an excellent dinner before heading outside again to look for northern lights in the dark night sky.
Day 3: Whitefish Grilling
Today you will grill fresh local white fish over an open fire in a Timber Smoke Hut. The village of Kukkola is famous for this! The fish is put on a stick and then grilled over an open fire. The Timber Smoke Hut, one of the oldest buildings in the cultural village of Kukkola, dates back to the 1700's. Listen to stories of the local fishing culture while the fish is grilled. Should there be no whitefish you will grill fresh salmon.
Depending on the weather, take advantage of the evening to spend time outdoors and marvel at the natural phenomenon of the Northern Lights.
Day 4: Photography Class for Everyone
In the remote polar regions, photography is a very special challenge. Today you will learn from an expert how to best capture this environment and unique moments in pictures. After an early dinner and a short workshop on Arctic photography, in the evening you will go to the nearby village of Kukkola with a guide to take the best shots of auroras, old buildings, people and the dim village lights.
During the safari you will light a fire in a hut and get a snack with hot drinks. The hut is also a great place to warm up. If northern lights appear, a photo with you is included in the price and will be sent to you electronically.

The order of tours and activities within this itinerary may vary due to weather conditions and other contributing factors that must be taken into account by the guides when planning your tour. You will receive the exact order of activities once you arrive on site. The far north can have fluctuating and unpredictable weather with very strong temperature differences. The safety of guests and animals comes first, and for this reason, we reserve the right to change the itinerary and intensity of activities if and when needed. This involves both adjustments due to insufficient snow (meaning we cannot drive the sleds) or too much snow (snowstorms and extreme cold can cause accidents and various other problems). The required adjustments and fallback options in rare cases are based on the day-to-day conditions and can be compensated by shorter or longer daily stages, alternative accommodations, or even single day trips. In extremely rare cases we may organise alternative transport (ie. cars, quad bikes, etc).
