Wild & Luxury Dog Sledding: Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Iso-Syöte!
After your arrival at the airport, you will be taken to the hotel. As soon as you have checked in in the afternoon, you can settle into your comfortable hotel room. Look forward to a first restful night and the adventures that lie ahead!

Day 2: With the dog sled through Lapland
Fortify yourself for an eventful day with a hearty breakfast. You ride to a nearby husky farm, where the dogs greet you full of anticipation and can hardly wait to set off into the wilderness. You will receive an introduction to dog sledding and then get on the runners of your sled in pairs. Today's tour takes you approx. 12 km through snow-covered forests and over frozen lakes through the Finnish countryside. There will be breaks along the way so that you can change drivers and take photos. After returning to the husky farm, you listen to stories about the dogs over coffee and freshly baked buns before enjoy a relaxing end to the day back at the hotel (total duration incl. transfer: 2 - 2.5 h). Don't forget to keep an eye out for the Northern Lights after dark!

Day 3: Snowmobile safari into the wilderness
After a delicious breakfast, you will have some free time in the morning to explore the surrounding area. Afterwards, the engines are ready to go on an exciting snowmobile safari (2 people per snowmobile, single use possible for an extra charge)! The ride takes you through snow-covered forests, over frozen swamps and lakes and through some of the most beautiful scenery you have ever seen. A short stop for hot drinks and snacks gives you time to take in the tranquillity of the wilderness, take photos and enjoy. After about 3 hours you return to the hotel. In the evening, you can relax in the hotel's spa area and reflect on the day's experiences.


Day 4: Free Day
After breakfast, today is yours to enjoy at your leisure. You can, for example, book an additional activity (all options are listed under "Extras"). How about a visit to Rauna Wildlife Park and the famous Santa Claus Village in Rovaniemi? You could also try ice fishing, a typical local pastime. The ski area is also not far from your hotel: perfect for downhill skiing or snowboarding. Those who prefer a more relaxed pace can spend today in the hotel's spa area, enjoying the Finnish and steam sauna, and the pool.

Day 5: Departure
After a final hearty breakfast, it's back to the airport in Rovaniemi, Oulu or Kuusamo. You will take many indescribable memories of your dog sledding adventure in Finnish Lapland with you.

Accommodation:
Included in this trip is accommodation in a Star Superior Room for three nights and one night in an Aurora View Suite.
The modern Star Superior Rooms are comfortable and have a double bed or two single beds, a spacious bathroom with shower, WC and whirlpool bath and other ammenities such as TV, Wi-Fi, kettle, drying cabinet for outdoor gear and large panoramic windows. There is also space for a sofa bed if required.
The Aurora View Suite is available in two different layouts: a two-story suite with two bathrooms, or a single-story suite with one bathroom. Regardless of the layout, both feature large windows offering views of the sky and valley, as well as a private sauna and a living area. The larger suite also includes a sofa bed that opens up to 140 cm for additional sleeping space. On a clear night, the best place in the suites is the private jacuzzi/hot tub on the balcony, from which you might be lucky enough to see the Northern Lights.
Room upgrades to other unique, incomparable suites are available on request (see “Extras”). The hotel facilities include a cafe and a restaurant with à la carte service and buffet of Finnish and Lappish cuisine. Access to the Arctic Spa with pool, traditional Finnish sauna, steam sauna and hot tub is included. Spa treatments can be booked for an additional fee.

Catering:
This tour includes breakfast. Half board can be booked in addition. At lunchtime you can eat in the cafe of the hotel or in a small ski restaurant at the foot of the mountain. There is also a small mini-market with a limited selection of groceries. Both the husky and snowmobile tour include hot drinks and snacks.

Important Information:
This tour is suitable for all ages, but young children will not be able to drive their own snowmobile or dog sled team and will instead need to ride with the guide. Children over 140 cm may ride as passengers behind a parent on snowmobile tours. To drive a snowmobile, you have to be at least 18 years old and have a valid driving license.
