Iso Syöte - Weekly Programme: Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival
After arriving at the airport, you will be transferred to your accommodation for the duration of your stay – the hotel Iso-Syöte. Once you have checked in and had a chance to refresh yourself after your journey, you will enjoy a delicious dinner with the rest of your tour group. Get a good night of rest in your cosy double room, so you are ready for the adventures that lay ahead!
Day 2: Adventure by Snowmobile through Lapland's Wilderness
After a tasty breakfast, you will have some free time to explore the local area. Then get ready to start your engines as you head out on a thrilling snowmobile safari (2 persons per snowmobile)! Your journey will take you through snow-covered forests, across frozen lakes, and through some of the most beautiful scenery you will ever see. A quick stop mid-way through your journey for hot coffee and a snack will give you time to appreciate the quiet and calm of the wilderness. Return back to your hotel in the evening for another delicious dinner, where you can reflect on the excitement of the day.
Day 3: Meet your Husky Team
Another day of adventure awaits you! After breakfast, you will climb aboard snowmobiles which will take you to meet some very exciting four-legged creatures! That’s right, it is time to meet the Huskies, who will be most happy to see you. After a short introduction to husky sledding, you will be ready to drive your very own dog sled team (2 persons per sled). A 6 km husky safari will follow, where you will take a route through the snowy wilderness and ice-covered swamps in the Syöte area. There will be several stops so that you can switch drivers in order to take some photographs and make lasting memories of this incredible day. The safari lasts around three hours, after which you will have some time to spend at leisure. Dinner will be served at your hotel.
Day 4: With the Huskies in the Wilderness
Ready for more fun? Of course, you are! Today will see you enjoy a full day husky safari through some of the most picturesque and untouched terrains in the Syöte area. After breakfast, you will be given a reminder session on how to drive your sled, then you will head out with your team of excited huskies (2 persons per sled). Along the way, you will break for lunch around a campfire, and to swap drivers in order to take more photographs of this breath-taking experience. In total, you can expect to mush your dog sled team between 25-40km, making you a true, capable musher! Unwind in your hotel in the evening, perhaps enjoying a relaxing swim or sauna, before a delicious dinner and a good night of rest.
Day 5: Reindeer Farm and Snowshoeing
Hopefully, you will have recharged your batteries overnight, as today is another day full of fun and adventure! After breakfast, snowmobiles will take you to a nearby reindeer farm where you can get up close and personal with these majestic creatures. You will find out more about the history and life of reindeers and their herders, and will have the opportunity to ride in a reindeer-pulled sled! Coffee and snacks will be included. Next, get ready to experience one of the most traditional forms of transportation in the far north – snowshoeing. Your trip starts in the afternoon with instructions on how to use the snowshoes. You will then head out into the beautiful, snow-covered hills around Iso-Syöte, where you may see some of the birds and animals native to the area. The tour includes a short break, where coffee and cookies will be served.
Day 6: Sámi Leisure - Ice Fishing
Your last day of exciting activities in this outstanding part of the world will see you enjoying a traditional Lappish pastime – ice fishing. After breakfast, you will be taken to a nearby frozen lake and taught the techniques to land yourself your very first fish! Coffee and snacks will be served by an open fire. In the afternoon, you will have some time at your leisure to explore the area some more, book any other optional activities that appeal to you, or simply unwind and enjoy the facilities of your accommodation including swimming, hot sauna (included) and even some arctic spa treatments (not included). Enjoy dinner and a final night in your comfortable hotel room.

Additional Information:
The order of tours and activities within this itinerary may vary due to weather conditions and other contributing factors that must be taken into account by the guides when planning your tour. You will receive the exact order of activities once you arrive on site. The far north can have fluctuating and unpredictable weather with very strong temperature differences. The safety of guests and animals comes first, and for this reason, we reserve the right to change the itinerary and intensity of activities if and when needed. This involves both adjustments due to insufficient snow (meaning we cannot drive the sleds) or too much snow (snowstorms and extreme cold can cause accidents and various other problems). The required adjustments and fallback options in rare cases are based on the day-to-day conditions and can be compensated by shorter or longer daily stages, alternative accommodations, or even single day trips. In extremely rare cases we may organise alternative transport (ie. cars, quad bikes, etc).
