Yukon Winter Adventure Trip: The Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival
Upon arrival at the airport in Whitehorse, you will be warmly welcomed and taken to the resort. Enjoy the scenic drive, which will already take you through the impressive nature of the Yukon. Once you arrive at the resort, you will check into your comfortable accommodation and have the opportunity to relax and explore the beautiful surroundings. In the evening, you can look forward to a delicious 3-course meal prepared with fresh, regional ingredients. End the day with a warm drink by the fireplace and enjoy the peace and quiet of the winter landscape.
Day 2: Husky tour through the wilderness of the Yukon
After a hearty breakfast, you will set off on an unforgettable day full of adventure. Your approximately four-hour husky tour will be led by renowned musher Michelle Phillips, her partner Ed Hopkins, or one of your guides. Both have extensive experience in sled dog racing and have participated in the world's largest sled dog races. Listen to their stories, get to know the professionally trained huskies, and learn how they are bred and trained. After a briefing, you will go on a tour and ride through the majestic landscape around Tagish Lake. If four hours is too long for you, please let us know before making your final booking – the tour can be shortened to two hours. In the evening, after an exciting day, you will return to the resort, where another delicious 3-course dinner awaits you.

The cabins are stylishly furnished and feature modern amenities such as a private bathroom, stove, and sitting area. Electricity, bedding, and towels are provided. Meals are served at the main lodge, which is within walking distance, and staff are available to answer any questions you may have. There is wifi and an outdoor sauna available. Enjoy the view of the surrounding landscapes and relax after an exciting day in the warm and inviting atmosphere of your private log cabin.
Important informatiom about dogsledding:
Guests without experience either sit in the guide's sled or stand on their own sled, which is pulled behind the guide's sled. Guests who have already been on a tour with Michelle Phillips or her guides or who can prove that they have experience with dog sledding may lead their own dog team if conditions are good. Driving your own team without experience can be very dangerous. Therefore, the final decision always lies with the guide with regard to the safety of the dogs and all participants.
Important information about snowmobiling:
Driving a snowmobile is only possible from the age of 18 and with a valid driver's license. Younger participants ride as passengers on the snowmobile. 12 - 15 year olds may only participate in temperatures above -20°C.
Additional Information:
The order of tours and activities within this itinerary may vary due to weather conditions and other contributing factors that must be taken into account by the guides when planning your tour. You will receive the exact order of activities once you arrive on site. The far north can have fluctuating and unpredictable weather with very strong temperature differences. The safety of guests and animals comes first, and for this reason, we reserve the right to change the itinerary and intensity of activities if and when needed. This involves both adjustments due to insufficient snow (meaning we cannot drive the sleds) or too much snow (snowstorms and extreme cold can cause accidents and various other problems). The required adjustments and fallback options in rare cases are based on the day-to-day conditions and can be compensated by shorter or longer daily stages, alternative accommodations, or even single day trips. In extremely rare cases we may organise alternative transport (ie. cars, quad bikes, etc). Feel free to contact us if you would like a more detailed assessment of this tour and travel period.
