Wonderful Winter Experience in the Yukon: the itinerary
Day 1: Arrival
Upon arrival in Whitehorse, you will receive a warm welcome and be transferred to your accommodation, the Mount Logan EcoLodge. During the drive, you can already admire the impressive winter landscape of the Yukon. At the lodge, you will check into your comfortable room and enjoy a delicious dinner, prepared mostly with local ingredients. Use this time to relax and prepare for the adventures ahead. To ensure you don't miss the Northern Lights during your stay, there's a Northern Lights Wake-Up Call Service that will notify you as soon as they appear.
Day 2: Dog Sledding
Start the day with a hearty breakfast! Then, you will head to a nearby husky farm and get an introduction from professional guides. You can either drive your own husky team or sit comfortably in the sled while a fellow traveler or guide takes over. Please let us know your preference when sending your request. Together with the dogs, you'll venture deeper into the white winter landscape. The silence of the Yukon, interrupted only by the sound of the huskies and the crunching snow, will slowly captivate you. After a total of 1.5 - 2 hours, you'll return to the lodge, where dinner will be served. The evening is free and can be spent in the lodge sauna.

Day 3: Ice Fishing on the frozen lake
Today, another highlight of your trip awaits you: ice fishing on the picturesque Pine Lake! After a hearty breakfast, you will be taken to the lake, where an experienced guide will explain the art of ice fishing. Surrounded by snow-capped mountains, you will sit by the campfire (weather permitting) and wait for the perfect catch. This is also an excellent opportunity to reflect and admire the tranquility and beauty of nature. Back at the lodge, you can look forward to dinner and end the day with a good chat.
Day 4: Kluane National Park
After a hearty breakfast, you will prepare for a full-day exploration of Kluane National Park. As you ride through vast valleys and past frozen lakes, your guide will show you this unique area. The day is filled with photo stops, information about the winter environment and potential wildlife viewing opportunities. At lunchtime, you will take a break for a picnic lunch and recharge your batteries. In the evening, you will return to the lodge and enjoy a well-deserved dinner. Afterward, it's worth going outside to look for the Northern Lights and reminisce about the best moments of the day.
Day 5: Guided Snowshoe Hike
As usual, you will begin the day with breakfast before embarking on a snowshoe hike. This 3- to 4-hour tour will take you into the pristine wilderness of the Yukon, into a peaceful, pleasant landscape. Your guide will share interesting facts about the local flora, fauna, and natural history as you hike through this enchanting winter world. The rest of the day is at your leisure. Use the sauna or relax with great views on the enclosed deck of the lodge.
Day 6: Departure
After breakfast, it's time to say goodbye today. Pack your things and take in the idyllic surroundings of the lodge once more. A transfer will take you back to Whitehorse, where you can continue your journey. You will leave with many wonderful memories of your Yukon winter adventure.
For a more relaxed journey, we highly recommend arriving in Whitehorse a day early and spending the night there. We are happy to assist you with this.

Additional Information:
The order of tours and activities within this itinerary may vary due to weather conditions and other contributing factors that must be taken into account by the guides when planning your tour. You will receive the exact order of activities once you arrive on site. The far north can have fluctuating and unpredictable weather with very strong temperature differences. The safety of guests and animals comes first, and for this reason, we reserve the right to change the itinerary and intensity of activities if and when needed. This involves both adjustments due to insufficient snow (meaning we cannot drive the sleds) or too much snow (snowstorms and extreme cold can cause accidents and various other problems). The required adjustments and fallback options in rare cases are based on the day-to-day conditions and can be compensated by shorter or longer daily stages, alternative accommodations, or even single day trips. In extremely rare cases we may organise alternative transport (ie. cars, quad bikes, etc). Feel free to contact us if you would like a more detailed assessment of this tour and travel period.
