Winter Wonderland: Holidays in Lapland: The Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival
You will be met upon arrival at Umeå Airport in the afternoon and drive just over an hour to the lodge where your adventure begins. There you will check into your comfortable rooms and end the day with a delicious dinner.
Day 2: Reindeer Experience
A day fully dedicated to reindeer and their history lies ahead of you. After breakfast, head out to meet the reindeer, discover the Sami culture and the role these majestic animals play in the daily life of Lapland. Lunch will be provided during the excursion, which lasts about 3 hours in total. Afterwards, you will have the rest of the day to yourself and enjoy the surroundings at your leisure before your dinner is served.

Day 3: Snowmobile safari and ice fishing
Today you will set off on an exciting snowmobile safari through the dense forests and across the frozen lakes of the Swedish winter landscape. You will share a snowmobile in pairs and take turns driving. On the way you will stop to try your luck at traditional ice fishing. This is accompanied by Swedish "fika" with hot drinks and snacks. The whole excursion takes about 3 hours. Afterwards, you will return back to the lodge for another nice dinner of local specialties.
Day 4: Snowshoeing and Northern Lights
Enjoy the day and relax or explore the surroundings on your own before taking a fascinating snowshoe hike in the evening, meanwhile looking out for the stunning Northern Lights. Enjoy a warm drink and some fika while you wait for this magical natural phenomenon.
Day 5: Your personal adventure
Today is at your leisure. You have the option to add additional activities (see "Extras"), relax in the sauna (extra charge) and then venture into an invigorating ice bath, or simply enjoy the peace and quiet with a good book and a hot cup of coffee or tea. Snowshoes and cross-country skis are at your disposal throughout your stay so that you can explore the surrounding area on your own. Organize the day as you wish and have a good rest in the evening, because the next day a new adventure awaits!
Day 6: Husky tour through the Swedish winter landscape
Another highlight of the trip awaits you today: an approximately three-hour husky sled tour through the Swedish wilderness. You'll share a sled in pairs and can take turns driving. Along the way, you'll stop for a break and have a snack before getting back on the sled's runners and heading back to the husky farm.
Day 7: Relaxation and sauna
Start the day with an extended breakfast and enjoy the peace and quiet that surrounds you. Today you can relax or add more activities (see "Extras") to your trip. Round off your stay with a visit to the sauna (extra charge) and a refreshing ice bath before enjoying a final delicious dinner of local specialties.
Day 8: Departure
The last day starts with breakfast before you unfortunately have to pack your things and say goodbye. A transfer will take you back to Umeå airport or city, from where you will start your journey home with many new, incomparable memories in your luggage.
Accommodation:
The lodge is located in a small village in the wilderness of Northern Sweden. It is located directly on the quiet river Umeå. The standard accommodation on this trip is double rooms in the eco-hotel or small cabins for up to four people. These are equipped with comfortable beds, toilet and shower with towels. Each room has a TV, kettle, tea and coffee. The cabins also have a small kitchenette and, in addition to a double bed that can be pushed apart to make two single beds, a sofa bed. Wifi is available throughout the premises. All rooms are non-smoking. If you wish, you can spend a night in an Aurora tree house during your stay (extra charge, see "Extras").
Note:
To drive a snowmobile you must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver's license.
To be allowed to drive a dog sled themselves, children must usually be at least 15 years old. Children between the ages of 6 and 10 ride together with an adult as a passenger on the sled. From the age of 10 and a minimum height of 120 cm, children may sit alone on a sled driven by an adult. If you have several children under the age of 15, please discuss this with us when booking.
Additional Information:
The order of tours and activities within this itinerary may vary due to weather conditions and other contributing factors that must be taken into account by the guides when planning your tour. You will receive the exact order of activities once you arrive on site. The far north can have fluctuating and unpredictable weather with very strong temperature differences. The safety of guests and animals comes first, and for this reason, we reserve the right to change the itinerary and intensity of activities if and when needed. This involves both adjustments due to insufficient snow (meaning we cannot drive the sleds) or too much snow (snowstorms and extreme cold can cause accidents and various other problems). The required adjustments and fallback options in rare cases are based on the day-to-day conditions and can be compensated by shorter or longer daily stages, alternative accommodations, or even single day trips. In extremely rare cases we may organise alternative transport (ie. cars, quad bikes, etc). Feel free to contact us if you would like a more detailed assessment of this tour and travel period. The service providers and tour providers always perform their services in compliance with and in accordance with the official requirements and requirements applicable at the time of stay. For this reason, corona-related reasonable usage rules or restrictions may arise when using said services. Please note these official requirements (Google Translate).

31.12.2023 - Traumhaftes Erlebnis
