Winter magic in Swedish Lapland: the itinerary
Day 1: Arrival
After your arrival at Vilhelmina Airport, you will collect your luggage and receive a warm welcome. A pick-up from Umeå Airport is also possible for an extra charge. During the journey to the mountains, you will already have the opportunity to admire the beautiful, unspoilt landscape that will accompany you in the coming days. Check into your comfortable hotel room in the mountain village of Klimpfjäll. Enjoy a delicious, home-cooked 3-course dinner in the rustic hotel restaurant and round off the day in a cosy atmosphere. Look forward to a restful night at the Klimpfjäll mountain hotel so that you are well rested for the adventures ahead.
Day 2: Exploration tour and arrival at the nature camp
The second day begins with a hearty breakfast while you enjoy the view of the neighbouring Kultsjön lake. After checking out of the hotel, you will receive an introduction to the week's programme in the hotel lobby. Now the adventure begins! Lean back on a special sledge trailer pulled by a snowmobile and set off on your first exploration tour through the village of Klimpfjäll to the breathtaking viewpoint "K2". There you have the opportunity to get a bird's eye view of the entire village and the marvellous natural surroundings. Enjoy a traditional Swedish fika in the dreamlike setting. After a short stop at the hotel for lunch, you continue to the nature camp on the other side of the lake. Here you can expect an introduction to the use of the camp, followed by a lovingly prepared dinner in a cosy barbecue hut. At the end of the day, you can relax in the sauna with a view of the lake if you'd like. From tonight, you will sleep in a tipi tent based on Sami traditions and make yourself comfortable on cosy reindeer furs and woven carpets.

Day 3: Snowshoe adventure and free time to explore
For a perfect start to the day, you will have breakfast with freshly brewed coffee or tea directly at the camp. The day's programme then takes you to the ski centre, where you will be given snowshoes. You then hike together through the forests and mountains of the surrounding winter landscape. Your guide will show you the way to a place with a fantastic view of the Autojoklimp mountain. Once there, a Swedish lunch will be prepared for you and a real "Norrland coffee" will be brewed. Enjoy the peace and quiet of the unspoilt mountain world and the fresh, clear air. After returning to the ski centre, you will have free time to explore the area or take part in other activities. In the evening, meet up at the hotel for another delicious 3-course dinner. You then return to the camp, where you can relax after the day's adventures.
Day 4: Snowmobile tour into the mountains
After a hearty breakfast, one of the highlights of your trip is on the programme today: an exciting snowmobile tour into the mountains. Experience the high-performance machines and drive through the beautiful winter wonderland. Your guide will show you the best viewpoints and places around the Klimpfjäll mountains. Enjoy the rugged nature and feel the problems of everyday life fade into oblivion in the majestic surroundings. On this day, you will have lunch over a fire in the open air. After spending the day in nature, another delicious 3-course dinner awaits you at the Klimpfjäll mountain hotel. You will then drive back to your overnight accommodation in a tipi tent at the foot of Kultsjön. Don't forget to keep an eye out for the Northern Lights during the journey, as the magical lights could make an unexpected appearance at any time.
Day 5: Fatmomakke: visit the church village with Sami history
Today is all about the fascinating Sami culture! Get ready to experience the origins of Sami culture, the Sami way of life and traditions up close. Take a tour of Fatmomakke (Faepmie), an 18th-century church village that is considered a spiritual and multicultural meeting place in the Swedish north. Learn more about the history of the Sami people, taste typical Sami snacks and visit a real Sami kåta. After this educational excursion, you will be taken back to the camp, where you can round off the day with a relaxing sauna session with a view of the lake and a dinner prepared in the barbecue kåta.
Day 6: Traditional ice fishing
Start the day again with a freshly delivered breakfast at the camp. You then set off to go ice fishing on the lake. Here you will experience an essential part of northern Swedish life. Try to catch your own dinner and enjoy the fresh air and tranquillity of the lake. In the evening, you will be served an unforgettable Nordland dinner in the camp's barbecue hut made from your own catch, rounding off the day perfectly.
Day 7: Day at leisure with options for dog sledding or skiing
After checking out of the camp, you will be taken to the hotel, where, after a delicious breakfast, you will move into one of the cosy hotel rooms. The last day of your trip is at your leisure. Perhaps you would like to spend the day at the ski resort or simply take a leisurely stroll through the picturesque village. Have a look at the selection of activities under "Extras" to make your last hours in this impressive region unforgettable. Finally, enjoy a delicious 3-course dinner at the hotel and relax on the last evening of your trip in this magical setting.
Day 8: Departure
Start your last day with breakfast at Hotel Klimpfjäll. Afterwards, you will be taken back to Vilhelmina Airport (or Umeå for an extra charge). You will start your journey home with many new memories and adventures and will hopefully be able to talk about these unforgettable experiences for a long time to come.
Accommodation:
During your stay, you will spend the nights in a combination of hotel and unique nature camp at the foot of Kultsjön. The Klimpfjäll mountain hotel offers you comfortable hotel rooms with all amenities. But the highlight are the overnight stays in the nature camp, where you sleep authentically on traditionally woven carpets and reindeer furs in a large tipi tent for up to 10 people. This is shared accommodation, so no single or double rooms are possible. There is a fireplace in the tent for extra comfort and you have the opportunity to enjoy a traditional Swedish barbecue hut as well as soothing sauna sessions and snow baths.
Please note:
To drive a snowmobile yourself, you must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driving licence. Persons under the age of 18 can only take part in this trip if accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Additional Information:
The order of tours and activities within this itinerary may vary due to weather conditions and other contributing factors that must be taken into account by the guides when planning your tour. You will receive the exact order of activities once you arrive on site. The far north can have fluctuating and unpredictable weather with very strong temperature differences. The safety of guests and animals comes first, and for this reason, we reserve the right to change the itinerary and intensity of activities if and when needed. This involves both adjustments due to insufficient snow (meaning we cannot drive the sleds) or too much snow (snowstorms and extreme cold can cause accidents and various other problems). The required adjustments and fallback options in rare cases are based on the day-to-day conditions and can be compensated by shorter or longer daily stages, alternative accommodations, or even single day trips. In extremely rare cases we may organise alternative transport (ie. cars, quad bikes, etc). Feel free to contact us if you would like a more detailed assessment of this tour and travel period.
