Winter dreams at Kluane National Park: the itinerary
Day 1: Arrival
You will receive a warm welcome in Whitehorse and be transferred to your accommodation, the Mount Logan EcoLodge (approx. 1.5-hour drive). After settling into your room, you can admire the picturesque views of the surrounding snow-capped mountains. In the evening, you will be treated to a delicious dinner prepared with mostly local ingredients. To ensure you don't miss the Northern Lights during your stay, there is a Northern Lights wake-up call service that will notify you as soon as they are visible.

Day 2: Snowshoeing & Ice Fishing
Start the day with a hearty breakfast to give you the energy you need for the activities ahead. Today, you will explore the white valleys and forests of the Yukon on a 3- to 4-hour snowshoe hike. Your experienced guides will show you the surroundings and explain the local flora, fauna and natural history. In the afternoon, you can try ice fishing for 3 - 4 hours on Pine Lake. Under expert guidance, you will learn the best techniques and experience the tranquility of winter nature while waiting for the big catch. After a day full of adventure, you will return to the lodge in the evening, where dinner and a warm sauna await you.
Day 3: Dog Sledding
The third day is all about the huskies! After breakfast and a leisurely morning, you will be taken to a nearby husky kennel and receive a briefing and important safety instructions. You will then embark on a tour into the wilderness, where the only thing you hear is the sound of the runners and dog paws on the snow and the occasional panting of the huskies. You can choose out of different husky kennels with different driving options: drive your own dog team, take turns driving in pairs, or sit comfortably in the sled while a guide leads you through beautiful nature. Please let us know your preference when you make your request! After 1.5 - 2 hours, you will return to the lodge. Dinner will be served in the evening.
Day 4: Departure
Today, you will enjoy breakfast at the lodge once more before packing your bags and saying goodbye to the beautiful Yukon. A shuttle will take you back to Whitehorse, where you will continue your journey home or onward. You will leave this unique place with fond memories of the magical Kluane National Park.
For a more relaxed journey, we highly recommend arriving in Whitehorse a day early and spending the night there. We are happy to assist you with this.

Additional Information:
The order of tours and activities within this itinerary may vary due to weather conditions and other contributing factors that must be taken into account by the guides when planning your tour. You will receive the exact order of activities once you arrive on site. The far north can have fluctuating and unpredictable weather with very strong temperature differences. The safety of guests and animals comes first, and for this reason, we reserve the right to change the itinerary and intensity of activities if and when needed. This involves both adjustments due to insufficient snow (meaning we cannot drive the sleds) or too much snow (snowstorms and extreme cold can cause accidents and various other problems). The required adjustments and fallback options in rare cases are based on the day-to-day conditions and can be compensated by shorter or longer daily stages, alternative accommodations, or even single day trips. In extremely rare cases we may organise alternative transport (ie. cars, quad bikes, etc). Feel free to contact us if you would like a more detailed assessment of this tour and travel period.
