All pictures of this partner Day 2 - 3/4: Activities
During your stay, you can look forward to the following activities, evenly distributed over the days:
Whale Safari:
On one day, you will embark on an impressive whale safari. Your experienced captain knows where the best observation spots are. Orcas and humpback whales come to the nearby fjords from November to January to feed on herring. During the three to four hour safari, you will get closer to the fascinating marine mammals than ever before, surrounded by the wild and beautiful nature in northern Troms.
Storytelling:
During your stay, a two-hour storytelling about the history of the island and the Sámi people awaits you in a lavvu, a traditional Sámi tent. Immerse yourself in their fascinating world and gain a deeper understanding of their culture.
Dog sled ride or extra whale safari:
Meet the lovely dogs and join them on an exciting tour through the wilderness of Norway (2 persons / sled). After the initial adrenaline at the start, you will soon feel a pleasant calm, interrupted only by the sound of the dogs' paws and sled runners on the snow-covered ground. If there is not enough snow, the tour will take place on wheels. For this activity, you can decide if you want to go dog sledding or prefer a second whale safari. Please inform us about your decision when booking!
Northern Lights Alarm:
Take advantage of the Northern Lights Alarm that will inform you if the auroras appear. Enjoy watching the colourful dance!
Day 4/5: Departure
After a hearty breakfast, it is unfortunately time for departure. A transfer will take you back to Tromsø city or airport, which you will reach at around 14:00. With many new impressions and unforgettable memories, you will start your journey home.
Accommodation:
You will be staying in double or twin rooms at the Arctic Panorama Lodge on the isand Uløya. The lodge offers breathtaking views and has spa facilities with a sauna and hot tub. Use of the spa facilities is included on all days. Accommodation in single rooms or a "Superior Room" is also possible. Please contact us if you are interested!
Important information:
Please note that children are not allowed to steer the dog sled themselves and must instead ride as passengers with a parent or the guide. The guide will decide if a child is tall and/or old enough to drive the sled itself.
Additional Information:
The order of tours and activities within this itinerary may vary due to weather conditions and other contributing factors that must be taken into account by the guides when planning your tour. You will receive the exact order of activities once you arrive on site. The far north can have fluctuating and unpredictable weather with very strong temperature differences. The safety of guests and animals comes first, and for this reason, we reserve the right to change the itinerary and intensity of activities if and when needed. This involves both adjustments due to insufficient snow (meaning we cannot drive the sleds) or too much snow (snowstorms and extreme cold can cause accidents and various other problems). The required adjustments and fallback options in rare cases are based on the day-to-day conditions and can be compensated by shorter or longer daily stages, alternative accommodations, or even single day trips. In extremely rare cases we may organise alternative transport (ie. cars, quad bikes, etc). Feel free to contact us if you would like a more detailed assessment of this tour and travel period.
Note: We recommend booking additional categories and guided activities directly with the tour package (several weeks or months before arrival), as these may be fully booked at the time of travel. Some activities are only available on certain dates and not for the entire season.
