Swedish Winter Fairytale: The itinerary
Day 1: Arrival
When you arrive at Luleå airport a private forest transfer to the lodge will pick you up. It is roughly a 1.5 h drive from the airport. Once you have arrived there is equipment like snowshoes, nordic skis, kick sleds, an around the clock sauna, and a bar available as well as nice fireplaces to hang around. You will get your first delicious dinner at the lodge and hope for clear skies so that you can see the magic of the dancing northern lights.
Day 2: Husky tour through the beautiful winter scenery
Wake up in the middle of the beautiful Swedish winter landscape and enjoy a good hearty breakfast before you go on your first adventure today: a sled dog ride! You will drive through the snow covered forest to the husky farm. After some instructions you get to steer your own team of sled dogs through the wilderness surrounding you. You share the sled in pairs of two and take turns driving. Half-way you will stop for a tasty outdoor lunch and sit around the campfire to take a breath and enjoy the nature around you. Cuddle your hard working huskies before you continue the tour back to the husky farm. The tour lasts about 3,5 hours and afterwards you head back to the lodge.

After breakfast you check out of your room at the lodge and visit a Sami family and meet their precious reindeer. A traditional lunch is served and you will learn about the Sami culture and their work and relationship with the reindeer for about 2-3 hours. After the Sami and reindeer visit you head to the Aurora camp pick up point from where you will go the last part in a snowmobile sleigh. Upon arrival at the camp you will be greeted with some warm welcome drinks and can check into your warm Aurora Cone or Tipi Cabin. Depending on arrival time you can start exploring the area. In the evening you have a 4-course dinner ready for you in the cozy lounge tent. The northern lights chance is very high all evening and night if the sky is clear.
Day 4: Floating sauna and ice bath
Look forward to an amazing breakfast in the camp and some self-guided activities afterwards. There are a lot of different options: you can head out on fatbikes, kicksleds, snowshoes or Nordic skis. The lunch will be served at the camp. In the afternoon the hot sauna will be waiting for you. It is on a float that is frozen into the ice of the Råne River. Warm up in the sauna, and then you have the possibility to take a plunge in the “ice pool” if you dare. There is also a 12-volt shower with hot water and a fireplace so it is comfortable and cosy after getting out of the the water. You can book time slots to enjoy this special event privately by yourself every day whilst at the camp.
Day 5: Ice fishing
Strengthen yourself at breakfast and then get ready to go ice fishing. You will learn all about the technique and different kinds of fish in the river. Drill a hole in the thick layers of ice and then be patient, maybe you will be rewarded with a catch! This excursion takes about 3 hours in total so you still have some time in the evening before you can enjoy an exquisite 4-course menu for dinner again. Don't forget to have a look at the sky when you go to your Aurora Tipi, you might spot some northern lights.
Day 6: Departure
Enjoy one last breakfast before you have to pack your things and check out. Depending on your flight time you might still have time for some activities before you go back to the airport. Your driver will drop you off on time and you can board your flight back home with many incomparable and beautiful memories.
