Soft Adventure Week Finland: The itinerary
Day 1: Arrival
After landing at Kajaani Airport, you will be greeted and transferred to the hotel. Check into your cosy room and explore the beautiful surroundings. The evening can be spent at your leisure. You can explore further or relax in a traditional sauna.

Day 2: Dog sledding on the Nuppu and Nallo Trail
Today after an extensive breakfast, you are off to your first adventure in the Finnish wilderness. Your transfer will take you to the Husky Center where you will experience the magic of dog sledding. Adults and teenagers can safely drive by themselves, children can enjoy the ride as passengers. Feel the excitement build as the dogs are harnessed and put into their running teams. The experienced guides of Vuokatti Safaris will teach you the basics of driving a husky sled, then send you off on our Nuppu and Nallo winter trail. The trail is 0,5 km long and you will drive around it several times. You will also be introduced to the day-to-day life of the nearly 100 huskies on the farm. The duration of the excursion is 2 hours with transfers. During the rest of the day, you can explore the resort, go tobogganing or whatever you feel like – Vuokatti has plenty of choice for fun activities.
Day 3: Snowmobile Safari
This is the day for everyone who loves the hear the roar of the engines. After a tasty breakfast, you will be transferred to the Safari Center for an introduction. Then it’s time to gear up. Enjoy amazing winter scenery on a snowmobile safari! Your local guide will lead the way, as you will drive safely into the winter wonderland by snowmobiles. On this safari, you will drive new Touring model snowmobiles – due to new technology they are safer and more environmentally friendly as they produce lower emissions. On our way back you will stop for a break and enjoy hot drinks and sweet snacks. This safari is suited for beginners, too. The total route length is about 20 km and the duration of the excursion is 2,5 to 3 hours including the transfers. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure – for example, you could head to the ski slopes or try out other activities.
Day 4: Snowshoe Adventure
After enjoying the breakfast buffet, you will start today’s excursion. A snowshoe adventure is the perfect way to explore Vuokatti’s winter landscape authentically. First of all, your guide will teach you how to use the snowshoes correcty. Then your local guide leads you to the snowy forest where you can enjoy amazing winter scenery. You will hear interesting stories about the history and nature of the Vuokatti area. Along the way, you will enjoy some hot drinks and take in the scenery during a relaxing break. The route length is about 2 km. This excursion is perfect for families and groups! The duration of today’s trip is 2 hours with transfers.
Day 5: Dog sledding on the Alfon’s Forest Trail
Start your final day in the winter wonderland with a delicious breakfast. Then, you your transfer will take you back to the Husky Center where you will meet your four-legged friends again. Here, you will be swept from the excitement of the arena out into the peaceful and surreal winter forests. Learn how to harness the sled dogs and practice the skill of driving over a long distance. This trail is 6 km long and you will drive it with traditional Björkis (2 persons per sled). You will be inspired by the peaceful motion and the beautiful scenery. Hot drinks are included and the duration of this excursion is 2,5 hours with transfers.
Day 6: Departure
All good things come to an end. After a final breakfast, a transfer will take you back to Kajaani Airport to begin your onward journey. We are sure that you will remember this winter vacation for a long time to come and enjoy the memories fondly!
Accommodation:
During your winter vacation Finland tour, you will stay at Hotel Vuokatti in a cosy and stylish hotel room idyllically situated on Lake Nuasjärvi. The hotel complex has a gym, free parking, a private beach, free Wi-Fi, and a spacious sauna with an outdoor pool. The restaurant offers a delicious a la carte menu with stunning lake views.
Board:
The winter vacation Finland tour will provide you with a breakfast buffet on all days. Coffee, snacks, and some meals are included during the excursions. There are three restaurants nearby the hotel where you can get lunch and dinner: Hella, Amarillo and Kippo. The lobby bar is open also 24/7 (drinks & snacks available).

18-23.02.23 - Traumurlaub
So eine Reise war schon immer unser Traum. Nun haben wir Sie gemacht und sind begeistert. Es war alles sehr gut organisiert. Auch das Flieger und Zug Verspätung hatten, war alles kein Problem. Die Kommunikation mit dem Hotel hat super funktioniert. Auch das unsere Koffer den Sprung von Helsinki nach Kajaani nicht geschafft hatten, war für die Mitarbeiter des Hotels kein Problem. Noch in der gleichen Nacht haben sie den Kontakt zu Finair hergestellt und sm nächsten Tag standen sie denn an der Information des Hotels. Das Hotel ist nett, liegt traumhaft. Die Zimmer sind gross genug und sauber. Das Frühstück ist ebenfalls gut. Eine Abwechslung im Aufschnitt und Käse wäre wünschenswert. Der Service, wie schon erwähnt, einfach nur großartig und spitzenmässig. Die Huskytouren haben uns sehr viel Spaß gemacht. Gut war die kleine Gruppe, so bekam man Kontakt zu den Hundeführern und Fahrerinnen. Wir haben uns jederzeit aufgehoben und sicher gefühlt. Die Betreuung auch während der Fahrten war außergewöhnlich. Das die Landschaft atemberaubend ist, muss ich wahrscheinlich nicht erwähnen. An dieser Stelle nochmals vielen Dank an alle. Ich kann verstehen, daß die Finnen die glücklichsten Menschen der Welt sind!
