Day 1: Arrival and dinner
You´ll arrive at the lodge and your hosts will welcome you. The program starts with dinner and a first tour briefing with your guide. We recommend arriving a few days earlier as a lodge guest to enjoy further activities.
Day 2: Skitour by Husky Team - let´s go!
After breakfast your adventure is ready for you! Happy you you´ll enjoy the full experience of skiing through Lapland without carry your heavy luggage - because it will be loaded onto a large dog sled, which is led by your guide. After a steep ascent, it goes over hilly terrain, lakes, and marshes to the Gardin mountain cabin. What an excited first day out in the wilderness!
Day 3: The beautiful tundra landscape
Start your day with some delicious breakfast. Get your ski on and let´s go! You´ll reach the tundra, a fascinating landscape where the view is endless in all directions. In the evening, you´ll arrive at the Mollisjok mountain cabin, a "jewel" on the plateau. Enjoy the view, it´s stunning!
Day 4: Skiing through Sámi land
Today your tour continues southwards along the river, passing two remote settlements. The Sámi, the indigenous people of Lapland living here mainly earn their income from fishing. At the end of the day, you´ll cross a large lake and reach the Soussjavre mountain cabin at the other end of the lake. What a day - full of adventure, wilderness and culture!
Day 5: Reindeer Tracks
The area you´ll are skiing through often sees reindeer herds in winter. Be careful, you may see some of the beautiful animals along the way! After a long downhill to the Karasjok valley, you´ll reach the small wilderness cabin Baeivasgiedde, picturesquely located by the river.
Day 6: Sámi reindeer herder family visit: Culture deep dive
Today another tour highlight takes place. After breakfast you´ll visit a Sámi reindeer herder family in their winter quarters and share a meal with them - an exciting insight into Sámi culture. Listen to the stories they tell and learn about their history and myths. It´s fascinating! You´ll spend a second night at Baeivasgiedde.
Day 7: The last ski stage and return to the lodge
Unfortunately the last ski stage is here. You´ll ski along the river to Beskenjarg, the end of the road. A bus will drive you back to the lodge, where a warm sauna and a farewell dinner awaits you. Take your time to think about all the adventures, moments, stories, happiness, peace and silence you experienced the last day. Day 8: Departure
Your Ski Tour with Husky Team in Norwegian Lapland ends. You´ll travel home, fulfilled and happy. Another option could be that you would like to spend some additional days at the lodge.

Your dog team: On this husky safari you will be driving a tandem team - two sleds behind each other with one team of 8-10 huskies. It is possible to disconnect them and drive two single teams if you have earned some experience and feel safe on the sled. Please notice that this decision will be made in the group with the guide and all participants together.
Requirements for the participants:
This sled dog trip is an active holiday and requires a very good level of fitness and teamwork. Essential activities such as fetching water, chopping wood, cooking, and caring for the dogs are organised and carried out together as a team.

Due to the remote location of this truly ‘off the beaten track’ tour, there are a variety of transport options depending on your preferred arrival airport, details of which are listed below.
Via Lakselv Airport, Norway
Upon your arrival at Lakselv airport, a bus journey of approximately one hour will take you to your base in Karasjok. Alternatively, should you prefer a private transfer, you can arrange a taxi for your trip between the airport and Karasjok.
Via Alta Airport, Norway
Upon your arrival at Alta airport, a bus journey of approximately 4 hours will take you to your base in Karasjok. Alternatively, should you prefer a private transfer, you can arrange a taxi for your trip between the airport and Karasjok, and this will take roughly 2.5 hours.
Via Ivalo Aiport, Finland
Upon your arrival at Ivalo airport, you can take a taxi to Ivalo bus station and catch a daily bus that will take approximately 2.5 hours to reach your base in Karasjok. The journey from Ivalo airport to the bus terminal is approximately 7km. Alternatively, should you prefer a private transfer, you can arrange a taxi for your trip between the airport and Karasjok, and this will take roughly 2h.

The required adjustments and fallback options in rare cases are based on the day-to-day conditions and can be compensated by shorter or longer daily stages, alternative accommodations, or even single day trips. In extremely rare cases we may organise alternative transport (ie. cars, quad bikes, etc).
