Short trip to Uløya's Northern Lights

Short trip to Uløya's Northern Lights: the itinerary

Day 1: Arrival on the island of Uløya
After your arrival at Tromsø, a shuttle will take you to the Arctic Panorama Lodge in around 3.5 hours. Take in the beautiful Norwegian landscape and look forward to your upcoming experiences in this unique natural environment. At the lodge, check into your comfortable room and, after a short rest, dinner is served in the restaurant. All guests sit together at a long dining table and enjoy a cosy get-together with dishes made from local ingredients. Afterwards, you may be able to catch your first glimpse of the auroras. A Northern Lights alarm will inform you if they appear during your stay.

Day 2: Snowshoe hike & storytelling
Start the day with a hearty breakfast, which will give you the energy you need for the adventures ahead. In the moring, you will go on a guided snowshoe hike through your Arctic surroundings. Here you will experience the silence of nature and have impressive views of fjords, mountains and valleys. In the evening, you will listen to interesting stories about the Sami and the history of the island in a lavvu (traditional tent). After such an eventful day, dinner awaits you in the restaurant. How about rounding off the day with a drink at the bar?

Day 3: Dog sledding or snowmobile safari
Today, you have the choice between two activities: a dog sled ride (for an extra charge) or a snowmobile safari. On the dog sled ride, you will steer your own team of huskies over snow-covered trails (2 people / sled). Experienced guides accompany you and give you an insight into caring for and living with these wonderful animals.
Alternatively, you can go on a guided snowmobile tour through the white winter wilderness and discover breathtaking views.
Please let us know your preferred activity when making your request! After exciting adventures in nature, you can use the sauna and hot tub at the lodge in the afternoon.

Day 4: Departure
After a final breakfast at the lodge, you will be transferred back to Tromsø for your journey home. The wonderful memories you have made on this short trip are sure to stay with you for a long time to come.

Accommodation:
The Arctic Panorama Lodge is located on the island of Uløya, near Tromsø. With its quiet and comfortable atmosphere, it is ideal for your stay in northern Norway. You will be accommodated in one of the standard rooms (double or twin) with en-suite bathroom (shower & toilet). Each room is also equipped with a hairdryer and free Wi-Fi. Please note that the price is per person and refers to an occupancy of 2 people.
The lodge features a spa area with a sauna and outdoor hot tub, where you can relax after a day of activities. In the restaurant, you can expect dishes made with fresh, local ingredients. Everyone sits together at the long dining table, enjoying the food and the company of each other.

Important information:
Please note that children are not allowed to drive the dog sled themselves and need to travel as a passenger with a parent or the guide instead. The age at which children are allowed to drive the sled themselves is at the discretion of the guide (usually from the age of 13, depending on height). Driving a snowmobile is possible from the age of 18 and in possesion of a valid driving licence. Younger participants can either ride as a passenger behind a parent or in a sledge pulled by the guide's snowmobile.
