Norway Aurora Borealis Short Break: The Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival
Upon arrival at Tromso Airport, a transfer will take you to your accommodation. There you can recover from your journey and move into a comfortable double room. Afterwards, you can get in the mood for the exciting time ahead with a pleasant dinner. The travel services begin with dinner on the first day and end with breakfast on the last.
Day 2: Free Day & Northern Lights
You can spend the day according to your own preferences. Explore the area on a walk or sit back with a good book. There are many possibilities! If you are interested, you can book various activities at an additional cost. How about a trip on cross-country skis? After dinner, you will make your way to Camp Nikka. Free from any light pollution, you will find the perfect conditions for observing the Northern Lights. Cosy up together in a Lavvu tent and enjoy snacks and hot drinks by the fire. Your guide will give you tips on how to photograph the natural spectacle best.

Today, you will learn everything you need to know about surviving in the wilderness on a snowshoe tour through snowy forests. In the footsteps of the Norwegian explorers, you will make your way through the snow and learn, for example, how to light a fire with a magnesium stone. Along with more information about flora and fauna, look out for animal footprints and try to guess what species they might belong to. With a bit of luck, you will even meet a grouse or a hare on your tour. Back at the hotel, you can refresh yourself with a dinner and reflect your new experiences.
Day 4: A ride with the dog sled
After a delicious breakfast, you will go to a husky farm, which pays particular attention to animal welfare. The huskies, housed two at a time in an enclosure where they can run freely, will eagerly await you. Before you can finally get started, you will get an introduction to leading a dog team. Then you will get on the runners of your sled (2 persons per sled) and set off on a journey through the impressive nature of Northern Norway. The driver can be changed halfway through the tour. Back at the husky farm, you will regain your strength with a small snack. Round off the successful day with a dinner at Malangen Resort.
Day 5: Departure
Enjoy one last breakfast before being transferred to Tromso Airport. The adventures and new experiences you made during your short holiday in the far north will accompany you on your way back home.
The accommodation:
Accommodation is the beautiful Malangen Resort, located in the middle of the Norwegian Fjords near Tromso and featuring gorgeous views. This is your ideal starting point for unforgettable nature excursions and a cosy retreat for relaxation. Each room comes with a breathtaking view and is of a high standard with modern furnishings. In addition, you will find a double bed, private bathroom and coffee/tea maker. Within the hotel, you will also find a sauna with a large glass front, as well as an outdoor whirlpool (both for an extra charge).
This tour is suitable for all ages. Young children are not allowed to lead their own dog sled team and must ride with the guide instead.

In extremely rare cases we may organise alternative transport (ie. cars, quad bikes, etc).
