Northern Lights Magic in the Yukon: The itinerary
Day 1: Arrival
After your arrival at Whitehorse airport, you will be warmly welcomed and taken to your hotel in the city center of Whitehorse. The hotel is close to all major attractions, restaurants, banks and stores so you can easily explore the area. After check-in, there will be an informative meeting where you can find out everything you need to know about the upcoming activities and sign up for optional tours. Take the opportunity to rent suitable winter clothing (optional, extra charge), go shopping or enjoy a dinner to your own taste (not included). At around 22:00 you will set off on an exciting Northern Lights hunt. Hot drinks and snacks will be available in a cozy, heated cabin or tent to make the experience even more enjoyable. The return to the hotel is around 2:30 in the morning.
Day 2: City tour and transfer to Aurora Lodge
Today you start the day at around 10 am with a city tour of Whitehorse, which lasts around 90 minutes and takes you to the highlights of this charming city. After the tour, you can have lunch on your own at one of the local restaurants before checking out of your hotel at around 1:30 pm. The drive to the lodge takes about 45 minutes and takes you along the South Klondike Highway, where you can admire breathtaking landscapes with majestic mountains and dense forests. Upon arrival at the lodge, your room will be waiting for you and your host will give you a tour of the lodge to show you the common areas both inside and out. Take the opportunity to relax a little, for example in the outdoor jacuzzi, before dinner (included). After dinner, stay awake and keep an eye out for the Aurora Borealis. There is a viewing platform that gives you an excellent view of the night sky. Keep an eye out for the dancing lights, which are sometimes visible for just a few seconds to several hours. Enjoy the peace and quiet and the magical play of light in the sky!

This day is free for you to enjoy the beauty of the surroundings. You can book optional activities or simply enjoy a relaxing day in the Yukon. Start the morning with a leisurely breakfast at the lodge. Afterwards, if you wish, you can explore an approximately 2 km snowshoe trail around the lodge grounds while enjoying the fresh, crisp air and breathtaking mountain scenery. Alternatively, you can simply sit on your balcony, sip a cup of tea and admire the spectacular panorama while reading a good book. In the evening, you will again have the opportunity to observe the Aurora Borealis on your own, and perhaps the impressive play of light in the sky will show itself again.
Day 4: Check-out and last aurora observations
Enjoy the morning as you wish or book an optional half-day tour to make the most of your stay. Around 11:00 am you will drive back to town, where you will have enough time to book one last optional tour such as dog sledding, a wildlife viewing trip, hot springs or a snowmobile safari. In the evening at around 10 p.m., you will set off again for the last night of aurora viewing, where you will hopefully be able to admire the impressive lights in the sky once again. You will return to the hotel at around 2:30 in the morning.

Additional Information:
The order of tours and activities within this itinerary may vary due to weather conditions and other contributing factors that must be taken into account by the guides when planning your tour. You will receive the exact order of activities once you arrive on site. The far north can have fluctuating and unpredictable weather with very strong temperature differences. The safety of guests and animals comes first, and for this reason, we reserve the right to change the itinerary and intensity of activities if and when needed. This involves both adjustments due to insufficient snow (meaning we cannot drive the sleds) or too much snow (snowstorms and extreme cold can cause accidents and various other problems). The required adjustments and fallback options in rare cases are based on the day-to-day conditions and can be compensated by shorter or longer daily stages, alternative accommodations, or even single day trips. In extremely rare cases we may organise alternative transport (ie. cars, quad bikes, etc). Feel free to contact us if you would like a more detailed assessment of this tour and travel period.
Note: We recommend booking additional categories and guided activities directly with the tour package (several weeks or months before arrival), as these may be fully booked at the time of travel. Some activities are only available on certain dates and not for the entire season.
