Enjoy the peace and remoteness in this special winter vacation. Due to the absence of large artificial light sources, you have the best chances of seeing the magical Northern Lights on various tours. On snowshoes and snowmobiles you will explore the untouched nature around you and enjoy a unique dinner in the middle of the frozen sea in a mobile Aurora Hideaway Restaurant.
Day 1: Arrival and Aurora snowmobile tour
You will be picked up at Luleå Kallax Airport or train station and taken to Brändön or Pine Bay Lodge, where you will receive your warm winter clothing after you have settled into your room or cabin. In the evening, a delicious 3-course dinner awaits you in the restaurant. Afterwards, you'll head out on a snowmobile tour (2 persons per snowmobile) to search for the Northern Lights. During the tour, you will drive to some of the best places near the lodge to observe the night sky and learn interesting facts about the unique natural phenomenon.

Day 2: Candlelight dinner at the Aurora Hideaway
After a hearty breakfast, you have the day at your leisure. How about exploring the area on a kick sled or going tobogganing? If you are staying at Brändön Lodge, you can also look for the reindeer in their enclosure. Lunch is served at the lodge. In the evening, it's time for a candle light dinner at the Aurora Hideaway. A snowmobile transfer will take you to the mobile restaurant on the frozen Arctic Ocean. The stove crackles and candles create a cosy, romantic atmosphere. While your meal is being prepared, you can take a short walk on snowshoes and keep an eye out for the Northern Lights.
Day 3: Free day and Aurora snowshoeing
After a hearty breakfast, it's the perfect time for a walk around the lodge. Say hello to the reindeer and walk along the snowmobile tracks over the frozen sea. You can also go on one of the additional activities, which are offered for an extra charge (see "Extras"). Lunch will be served in the restaurant. In the evening, strap on snowshoes and head out for a walk in the forest to a nearby hill. You will have a wonderful view of the sea. Here you build a fire and enjoy dinner under the stars.
Day 4: Departure
Depending on your departure time, you can still relax at the lodge and enjoy the ambience before you are transferred to the train station or airport on time for your journey. There you can say goodbye with many new impressions and wonderful memories before you start your journey back home.
Accommodation:
On this tour, you will stay at either Brändön or Pine Bay Lodge.
The main building of the Brändön Lodge is a log house that accommodates a restaurant, a lounge and relaxation area. Surrounding the main building are several log cabins facing towards the sea and the Luleå archipelago. Each cabin has a bathroom, two bedrooms with two single beds in each, a lounge and a covered veranda. The twin beds in one room can be pushed together to form a double bed.
Pine Bay Lodge has several en-suite hotel rooms (double and single) and a special family cabin with two double rooms, one single room and shared facilities. In addition to a large open plan dining and lounge room for all guests, the lodge also has a sauna, which you can book for private use.
If you wish, you can book additional nights and activities (see "Extras"). Feel free to contact us for this!
Note:
To drive a snowmobile you have to be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver's license. Please note that children can only ride on the snowmobile if they are of a certain size. This is at the discretion of the guide. Smaller children will sit in a sledge pulled by the guide's snowmobile.
Additional Information:
The order of tours and activities within this itinerary may vary due to weather conditions and other contributing factors that must be taken into account by the guides when planning your tour. You will receive the exact order of activities once you arrive on site. The far north can have fluctuating and unpredictable weather with very strong temperature differences. The safety of guests and animals comes first, and for this reason, we reserve the right to change the itinerary and intensity of activities if and when needed. This involves both adjustments due to insufficient snow (meaning we cannot drive the sleds) or too much snow (snowstorms and extreme cold can cause accidents and various other problems). The required adjustments and fallback options in rare cases are based on the day-to-day conditions and can be compensated by shorter or longer daily stages, alternative accommodations, or even single day trips. In extremely rare cases we may organise alternative transport (ie. cars, quad bikes, etc). Feel free to contact us if you would like a more detailed assessment of this tour and travel period. The service providers and tour providers always perform their services in compliance with and in accordance with the official requirements and requirements applicable at the time of stay. For this reason, corona-related reasonable usage rules or restrictions may arise when using said services. Please note these official requirements (Google Translate). Show all dates
