Traditional New Year in Lapland: Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival
After your arrival at Oulu or Kuusamo Airport, a transfer will pick you up and bring you to the lodge, where you will be welcomed with a home-cooked Finnish dinner. Settle in comfortably before you can take a few steps into the darkness in the evening and look out for the Northern Lights already. Meals begin today with dinner and end on the day of departure with breakfast.
Day 2: Introduction day
Today, after a nice long breakfast, you will get information about the program, a short tour around the lodge and your outer clothing for polar temperatures. Explore the beautiful surroundings around you and end the day in your own private sauna.
Day 3 - Day 5: At leisure
Organize these days as you wish! You can book guided activities (see "Extras") or rent equipment and set off on your own. The surrounding area is beautiful and just waiting to be discovered by you. Feel the peace and tranquillity and relax in the sauna before going to dinner and indulging in typical Finnish dishes.

Day 6: New Year's Eve
Relish the last day of the year to the fullest and design it according to your preferences. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Finnish dinner in a cozy kota. Review the past year by the warm fire before welcoming the New Year with sparkling wine and star sparklers at midnight. With a bit of luck, the Northern Lights will dance in the sky and ring in the New Year with you.
Day 7: Individual New Year's program
Today, you can relax, for example in the hot smoke sauna, which is included for one afternoon during your stay, and cool off in an ice hole afterwards if you dare. You can also choose between many different excursions (at an extra charge, see "Extras").
The optional guided tours include fat biking in the snow, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice fishing or a visit to a reindeer farm. You also have the opportunity to go on husky safaris or snowmobile tours of varying lengths. Glide through the wilderness of Lapland and enjoy the breathtaking nature of the far north! Let us know if you are interested in one of the excursions - we will tailor your trip according to your wishes!
Day 8: Departure
After a final breakfast, you will be taken back to the airport for your journey home. With renewed strength, you are now ready to face the new year in all its facets!
Accommodation:
You will spend the nights in a cozy apartment with its own sauna. The lodge is built entirely of wood and has a traditional, authentic and familiar atmosphere. Located right by Lake Jokijärvi, this is the perfect starting point for unique excursions. Each apartment can accommodate up to four people and has its own entrance, separate sleeping and living areas, toilet, shower and sauna.

The order of tours and activities within this itinerary may vary due to weather conditions and other contributing factors that must be taken into account by the guides when planning your tour. You will receive the exact order of activities once you arrive on site. The far north can have fluctuating and unpredictable weather with very strong temperature differences. The safety of guests and animals comes first, and for this reason, we reserve the right to change the itinerary and intensity of activities if and when needed. This involves both adjustments due to insufficient snow (meaning we cannot drive the sleds) or too much snow (snowstorms and extreme cold can cause accidents and various other problems). The required adjustments and fallback options in rare cases are based on the day-to-day conditions and can be compensated by shorter or longer daily stages, alternative accommodations, or even single day trips. In extremely rare cases we may organise alternative transport (ie. cars, quad bikes, etc). Feel free to contact us if you would like a more detailed assessment of this tour and travel period. Optional activities have very limited availability; we recommend booking them well in advance, often weeks or months before departure, as they may be fully booked by the time of travel.

Nur zu empfehlen! Tolle Zimmer mit Sauna, Essen sehr lecker, super nette Gastgeber, kompetente und witzige Guides, tolle Hunde, unvergessliche Touren, eiskalter See nach der Rauchsauna... Alles perfekt, ich werde wiederkommen!

Januar 2024 - Ein wunderschöner Urlaub
Ein unverbindlicher und einzigartiger Urlaub. Die Huskys, die direkt neben der Unterkunft leben, waren unser absolutes Highlight. Das Programm ist sehr abwechslungsreich und vielfältig. Warme Klamotten wie bspw. Skianzüge und Schuhe sind in den unterschiedlichsten Größen vorhanden. Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber und gemütlich. Jedes Zimmer hat eine eigene Sauna im Badezimmer. Auch die Rauchsauna auf dem Gelände ist ein Erlebnis.
