Look forward to meeting the friendly huskies, snowshoe hikes through the untouched winter landscape and the chance to watch the magical Northern Lights. This unforgettable week will give you memories that will last a lifetime!
Day 1: Arrival
After your arrival at Skellefteå airport or Jörn train station, you will be warmly welcomed by your hosts. The transfer to the sled dog farm is direct from the airport or train station and only takes a few minutes. When you arrive at the farm, you will enjoy a hot drink in the afternoon while you get your first impressions of the wonderful surroundings. You then have the opportunity to settle into your cozy vacation home or explore the idyllic natural surroundings on your own. A short hike to the nearby frozen lake is highly recommended and offers you the opportunity to take in the tranquillity and beauty of the surroundings. In the evening, meet up with your guide and the sled dogs for a shared dinner around the campfire in the middle of the sled dog enclosure. Listen to the first stories about the original sled dogs and establish a first connection with these fascinating animals - with a bit of luck, a few northern lights will already be dancing above your head.
Day 2: First adventure with the sled dogs
Strengthen yourself with a breakfast that you prepare yourself from a food basket before you get to know the huskies better today. Your guide will show you the basic techniques of sledging and you will take your first sledge ride. You will ride along as a passenger in a sledge and can enjoy the breathtaking winter landscape to the full. On the way, you will stop to prepare a small meal over an open fire and enjoy a warm drink. In the evening, you return to your vacation home where you can prepare your own dinner. Look forward to a relaxing evening where you can review the memories of the exciting day and prepare for the adventures ahead. Don't forget to keep an eye out for the Northern Lights after dark! All it takes is a few steps into the darkness, away from the lights of your accommodation.

Day 3: On the trail of reindeer and moose
On the third day, after a hearty, home-cooked breakfast, you set off on an exciting adventure through the Swedish wilderness. Your guide will take you on an exciting nature safari, exploring the deep forests of Sweden on snowshoes. Look out for the reindeer and majestic moose as you trek through the picturesque landscape. During the safari, you will enjoy a delicious lunch by the open fire, where you can enjoy the peace and quiet of nature to the full. After returning to the sled dog farm, you will have some time to relax before preparing your meal again in the evening at the vacation home and enjoying a cozy evening.
Day 4-5: Overnight tour with sled dogs and northern lights
Now that you have already gained some experience with dog sledding, a very special highlight awaits you: a private two-day tour with your own husky team. You will have the opportunity to experience the exciting nature up close and spend the night in a rustic wilderness hut without electricity or running water. On the way, you will enjoy a delicious lunch by the fire. Once you arrive at the wilderness hut, thank the sled dogs for their hard work before preparing dinner together around the campfire. In the clear night, keep an eye out for the impressive Northern Lights, which light up the sky and offer an unforgettable sight. The next morning, you prepare everything together for your departure and after a hearty breakfast, you return to the farm by dog sled. Enjoy the tranquillity of the surroundings as you glide through the snow-covered landscape, interrupted only by the gentle crunching of the snow under the huskies' paws.
If you would like to forgo the overnight stay in the wilderness as a group, it is also possible to stay in the guesthouse and go on two day trips with the dogsleds.
Day 6 and 7: Your own adventure
The sixth day is free for you to shape the adventure as you wish. After a relaxed breakfast, you can choose to visit the charming town of Arvidsjaur, where the Sami Museum awaits you and you can browse the small stores. If you wish, you can also book a spa experience in one of Lapland's most beautiful hotels. Alternatively, you can head out into the impressive landscape of the Vittjjaur fells or explore the breathtaking rapids of Storforsen. Or you can hire snowshoes and continue exploring the snow-covered surroundings. Whichever excursion you choose, on this day you can experience wintry Sweden in your own way.
Day 8: Farewell and journey home
On the last day of your trip, the morning begins with a delicious breakfast to give you the energy you need for the journey home. As you make your way back to Skellefteå airport or Jörn train station, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the magnificent views of the snow-covered winter forest one last time. If you're lucky, you might even spot a few reindeer or moose to round off your memories of this magical week in Swedish Lapland.
Accommodation:
The vacation home is picturesquely situated on the edge of the forest, right next to the sled dog farm. Here you can enjoy complete privacy and an undisturbed stay, as you are the only guests during your stay. The sled dog farm attaches great importance to animal welfare and offers you an authentic experience in the Swedish wilderness. The howling of the sled dogs in the cold winter night will certainly remain in your memory and make the atmosphere of this unforgettable trip even more intense. The house has 60 m² divided into two bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom. The bedroom has a double bed and a bunk bed. There is a spacious couch in the cozy living room. The kitchen includes a kitchenette with fridge-freezer and a stove with a small oven. Towels and bed linen as well as additional cribs are included.
Sustainability is important to us. That's why we provide you with high-quality, biodegradable shampoo, shower gel, soap and environmentally friendly cleaning products during your stay. So you can enjoy the beauty of Lapland and protect nature at the same time.
Catering:
Two evening meals by the fire in the sled dog enclosure are included during your stay. Lunch is served over an open fire during the nature safari & sled dog tours. A food basket is provided for all other meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) so that you can prepare them yourself in the vacation home.
Note:
A maximum of two adults and two children up to the age of 14 can take part in this trip per week. The trip is suitable for children aged 12 and over. If you would prefer to forgo the wilderness overnight stay and do two day husky tours, children aged 6 and over can take part in the trip. Please note that children are only allowed to ride sledges themselves from the age of 14, before that they can ride as passengers in the sledge.
Please bring your own winter clothing and hiking boots for the snowshoe hike. Overalls and winter boots in standard sizes are provided for your stay, but you should bring your own well-fitting and comfortable clothing for the hike.
Additional Information:
The order of tours and activities within this itinerary may vary due to weather conditions and other contributing factors that must be taken into account by the guides when planning your tour. You will receive the exact order of activities once you arrive on site. The far north can have fluctuating and unpredictable weather with very strong temperature differences. The safety of guests and animals comes first, and for this reason, we reserve the right to change the itinerary and intensity of activities if and when needed. This involves both adjustments due to insufficient snow (meaning we cannot drive the sleds) or too much snow (snowstorms and extreme cold can cause accidents and various other problems). The required adjustments and fallback options in rare cases are based on the day-to-day conditions and can be compensated by shorter or longer daily stages, alternative accommodations, or even single day trips. In extremely rare cases we may organise alternative transport (ie. cars, quad bikes, etc). Feel free to contact us if you would like a more detailed assessment of this tour and travel period. The service providers and tour providers always perform their services in compliance with and in accordance with the official requirements and requirements applicable at the time of stay.
