Comfortable Lodge
Northern Lights snowshoe hike
Northern Lights photo safari
Northern Lights snowmobile tour
ride on your own husky sled
overnight stay in the Aurora tree house possible
Group size 2~10 Persons
The breathtaking beauty of the Swedish wilderness will inspire you as you explore the untouched landscape by husky sled, snowmobile or on snowshoes and, with a bit of luck, marvel at the northern lights in the evening by an open fire with a hot drink in your hand. Most of the program of this trip takes place in the evening, so you have the best chance of experiencing the dancing northern lights in the starry night sky.
Day 1: Arrival
You will be picked up at Umeå Airport or Vindeln train station in the afternoon after your arrival and drive just over an hour (less from the train station) to the lodge where your adventure begins. There you will move into your comfortable rooms or cozy little cabins and end the day with your first Swedish dinner.
Day 2: Aurora snowshoe hike
Start the day with a hearty breakfast and relax during the day or explore the surroundings on your own with snowshoes or traditional Sami skis before going on a two to three hour snowshoe hike in the evening. In the meantime, keep an eye out for the breathtaking northern lights and enjoy warm drinks and a campfire over a Swedish “fika”. If there are northern lights that evening, you have the best chance of experiencing them up close and without any light pollution!

Day 3: Husky tour through the Swedish winter landscape
Another highlight of your trip awaits you today: a three hour dog sled tour through the Swedish wilderness. You will share a sled in pairs and can take turns driving. You stop for a break along the way and can enjoy a snack and a hot drink before getting back on the sled and heading back to the husky farm. Enjoy a typical Swedish dinner before you set off in search of the northern lights yourself this evening or simply relax in the comfort of your bed.
Day 4: Snowmobile safari under the northern lights
Enjoy a quiet day and relax or explore the surroundings on your own before going on a fascinating snowmobile tour in the evening, looking out for the breathtaking northern lights. Enjoy a warm drink while you wait for this natural wonder. You will be on the road for around two and a half hours, sharing a snowmobile in pairs and taking turns driving.
Day 5: Your personal adventure
Today is at your leisure. You have the option of booking additional activities (see “Extras”), relaxing in the sauna (private use, at an extra charge) and then venturing into an invigorating ice bath or simply enjoying the peace and idyll with a good book and a hot coffee or tea. Snowshoes and cross-country skis are at your disposal throughout your stay so that you can explore the surrounding area. Spend the day as you wish and have a good rest in the evening, because the next day another great adventure awaits!
Day 6: Northern lights photo safari
Today you can also start the day at a leisurely pace and plan it entirely according to your own wishes. After dinner, you will set off again in a small group in search of the magical northern lights. Led by an experienced nature guide and photographer, you will learn all about the natural phenomenon of the aurora borealis and how best to capture it in a picture. If you wish, the guide will also take pictures of you, which you can take home with you as a beautiful souvenir. You will make your way by car and/or on foot to the best places for photographing and observing the northern lights, where you can enjoy hot drinks and a few snacks. In total, the excursion takes about 3 hours, depending on the weather and the motivation of the group.
Day 7: Relaxation and sauna
Start the day with a hearty breakfast and enjoy the peace and quiet that surrounds you. Today you can relax again or book additional activities (see “Extras”). Round off your stay with a visit to the sauna (at an extra charge) and a refreshing ice bath before enjoying a final delicious dinner of local specialties.
Day 8: Departure
The last day begins with breakfast before you unfortunately have to pack your things and say goodbye. A transfer will take you back to Umeå Airport or the train station in Vindeln, from where you will start your journey home with many new, incomparable memories in your luggage.
Accommodation:
The lodge is located in a small village in the wilderness of northern Sweden. It is situated directly on the tranquil river Umeå. The standard accommodation on this trip is double rooms in the eco-hotel or small cabins for up to four people. These are equipped with comfortable beds, toilet and shower with towels. Each room has a TV, kettle, tea and coffee. The cabins also have a small kitchenette and, in addition to a double bed that can be pushed apart to make two single beds, a sofa bed. Wifi is available throughout the premises. All rooms are non-smoking. If you wish, you can spend a night in an Aurora tree house during your stay (for an extra charge, see “Extras”).
Note:
To drive a snowmobile yourself, you must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver's license. Children up to the age of 12 sit in a sled behind the guide's snowmobile.
To be allowed to drive a dog sled themselves, children must generally be at least 15 years old. Children under the age of 15 with a minimum height of 120 cm may sit alone on a sled driven by an adult. If there are several children under the age of 15, please discuss this with us when booking.
Additional Information:
The order of tours and activities within this itinerary may vary due to weather conditions and other contributing factors that must be taken into account by the guides when planning your tour. You will receive the exact order of activities once you arrive on site. The far north can have fluctuating and unpredictable weather with very strong temperature differences. The safety of guests and animals comes first, and for this reason, we reserve the right to change the itinerary and intensity of activities if and when needed. This involves both adjustments due to insufficient snow (meaning we cannot drive the sleds) or too much snow (snowstorms and extreme cold can cause accidents and various other problems). The required adjustments and fallback options in rare cases are based on the day-to-day conditions and can be compensated by shorter or longer daily stages, alternative accommodations, or even single day trips. In extremely rare cases we may organise alternative transport (ie. cars, quad bikes, etc). Feel free to contact us if you would like a more detailed assessment of this tour and travel period. The service providers and tour providers always perform their services in compliance with and in accordance with the official requirements and requirements applicable at the time of stay. For this reason, corona-related reasonable usage rules or restrictions may arise when using said services. Please note these official requirements (Google Translate). Show all dates

31.12.2023 - Traumhaftes Erlebnis
