Lapland Winter Adventures: The Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival
You will be welcomed at the airport or train station in Kiruna and then drive directly to the cozy lodge, which will be your starting point for the winter adventures of the next few days. You can check in at your leisure and move into your cozy room before meeting the team on site and receiving your Arctic outerwear.
The first item on the agenda for this evening is a crackling fire in a tipi next to the lodge. Your dinner will be grilled there before you set off in a minivan for the Abisko National Park in search of the Northern Lights. You drive along the quiet roads of Lapland to the best viewpoints all around. Perhaps you will be lucky enough to experience this magical natural spectacle up close on your first evening!
Day 2: The world of the Sami and reindeer
Enjoy a hearty breakfast before visiting a Sami village and learning about the traditional Sami way of life. Lunch will be served over an open fire before you set off on a short ride in a reindeer sleigh, from where you can admire the wintry landscape around you.
Afterwards, enjoy a relaxing evening at the lodge with a 2-course menu in the tipi. When you're ready, take a snowmobile ride to the top of Ednavaara, from where you'll have a magnificent 360-degree view over the mountain range, far away from any light pollution. You will share a snowmobile in pairs and can take turns driving. Keep your eyes peeled for the Northern Lights! Your guide will bring a camera and take photos throughout the evening as a wonderful souvenir of your time in the far north.

Another adventure awaits you today: you will visit a nearby husky farm and experience life as a musher in the Arctic. On the dog sled, you as a guest will get a feel for life in the untouched Arctic region, with breathtaking views and wildlife along the way through the forests and over frozen lakes and swamps.
After an exciting day, this evening you can relax in an open-air hot tub and look out for the glowing Northern Lights. Afterwards, you can once again enjoy the local cuisine. Today you will be served a 3-course menu before you go to bed for a well-earned night's sleep.
Day 4: View over Lapland by snowmobile
After breakfast, enjoy a unique snowmobile safari where two of you can share a snowmobile and take turns driving. This half-day tour through Lapland takes you to the edge of the Arctic tundra and above the tree line to unique vantage points that offer fantastic views over the untouched Arctic wilderness. You take a short break on a frozen lake, where you make coffee over a crackling fire and enjoy Swedish fika. Here you also have the opportunity to try your hand at traditional ice fishing.
You will enjoy lunch back at the lodge. Afterwards, the afternoon is at your disposal.
Finally, enjoy another 3-course meal with local ingredients, prepared by the lodge's excellent chefs, before snuggling up in your cozy beds for one last night. Don't forget to take a few steps into the darkness after dark and look for the Northern Lights!
Day 5: Departure
After breakfast, you will be taken back to the airport or train station in Kiruna. There you will start your journey home, hopefully with many memories of the incomparable experiences of the last few days.

Additional Information:
The order of tours and activities within this itinerary may vary due to weather conditions and other contributing factors that must be taken into account by the guides when planning your tour. You will receive the exact order of activities once you arrive on site. The far north can have fluctuating and unpredictable weather with very strong temperature differences. The safety of guests and animals comes first, and for this reason, we reserve the right to change the itinerary and intensity of activities if and when needed. This involves both adjustments due to insufficient snow (meaning we cannot drive the sleds) or too much snow (snowstorms and extreme cold can cause accidents and various other problems). The required adjustments and fallback options in rare cases are based on the day-to-day conditions and can be compensated by shorter or longer daily stages, alternative accommodations, or even single day trips. In extremely rare cases we may organise alternative transport (ie. cars, quad bikes, etc). Feel free to contact us if you would like a more detailed assessment of this tour and travel period.
