This dog sled tour takes you to natural hot springs in Interior Alaska. You can enjoy the beauty of nature with your own husky team before you relax in a hot tub in the middle of nowhere. At night, the impressive Northern Lights dance over your head, while you are filled with pleasant warmth and inner peace.
The Hot Springs Husky Experience: The itinerary
Day 1: Getting to know each other
In the morning, you will be picked up in Fairbanks and taken on a 40-minute drive to the husky farm. Here you will meet the excited dogs and your guides, who will give you a brief introduction to the equipment and techniques of mushing. Afterward, it goes on a short test drive through the forests of Alaska. Lunch awaits you between preparing the sleds for the next day. Enjoy a delicious dinner before settling into the shared hut on the farm's grounds for the night. The on-site travel services begin with the introduction to dog sledding on the first day and end with the arrival in Fairbanks on the last day.

After breakfast, you will be taken on a two-hour drive to the trailhead, where the luggage is loaded on the sleds and the dogs are harnessed. When everyone's ready, it's time to head into the wilderness. Your path takes you through dense forests and icy tundra in an up and down over mountains with breathtaking views. As soon as you arrive at the hot springs, you first care for the dogs, and thank them for their hard work. Then it's finally time for a warm bath.
Day 3: Time to Relax
Today is all about relaxation. Enjoy the tranquility and leave your worries behind with a warm bath surrounded by the Alaskan wilderness. After sunset, you should watch the night sky closely. Perhaps the Northern Lights will show up while you soak in the hot tub.
Day 4: Back through the wilderness & Departure
After breakfast, it's time to say goodbye to the hot springs. On the way back, you will enjoy fantastic views of the surrounding mountain ranges. But be careful, there might be strong winds on some sections of the route. At the trailhead, you will be taken to Fairbanks, where you will head home with new energy and lots of good memories. On-site travel services end with the arrival in Fairbanks. Attention: Dinner is not included today!
Accommodation:
You will spend your first night in the ADAC Lodge on the husky farm, which you will share with your fellow travelers. During your time at the hot springs, you will stay in a shared hut with kitchen, wood stove and separate bedroom including four bunks. Two more bunks, which serve as benches during the day, are in the main room. There is a cold fresh water spring for drinking and cooking water near the accommodation. None of the huts mentioned have running water or electricity!
For an additional fee, you have the option to spend your days at the hot springs in one of two private huts. You can also book a hotel in Fairbanks for arrival and departure with us. Please contact us if you're interested!
Arrival:
The best way to get to Fairbanks is by plane. You will be picked up there the next morning and taken to the husky farm. The transfer time is about 40 minutes.

This involves both adjustments due to insufficient snow (meaning we cannot drive the sleds) or too much snow (snowstorms and extreme cold can cause accidents and various other problems). The required adjustments and fallback options in rare cases are based on the day-to-day conditions and can be compensated by shorter or longer daily stages, alternative accommodations, or even single day trips. In extremely rare cases we may organise alternative transport (ie. cars, quad bikes, etc).
