The perfect way to discover Swedish Lapland in autumn and participate in the training of young Huskies. The wilderness in the far north welcomes you in this season with the most beautiful orange and red hues and will be sure to enchant you with breathtaking views. The summer break is coming to an end and the sled dogs have to be prepared for the upcoming winter season. Be part of the first few kilometers of the young dogs' training and learn the basics of handling and caring for these fascinating animals. Spend relaxed autumn days in this beautiful setting and enjoy every moment of dog sled training with your adorable four-legged companions.
Dog Sled Training: The Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival
After landing at Arvidsjaur airport, your hosts will welcome you and take you to the husky farm. You will be welcomed with a warm meal and will have the chance to get to know each other before you wind down for the evening in your cosy log cabin and get a good night of rest, ready for the day ahead!
Days 2 - Day 7: Autumn days training huskies
During your time on the husky farm, you will accompany the young Huskies on their first kilometers as sled dogs, helping them prepare for the winter season. On the excursions, you will discover the beautiful autumn landscape and immerse yourself in the wilderness of Swedish Lapland. Leave everyday life behind and experience an authentic way of living on a rural farm while training the animals. In addition to the Huskies and the natural way of life, the beauty of Swedish autumn is at the forefront of this journey. Mushrooms and berries are abundant at this time of year, which you can forage and cook (with the guidance of your hosts). You can also rent a canoe on-site including fishing tackle and marvel at the endless forests from the water; explore the surrounding lakes and rivers and fish for your own dinner. The silence will enchant you and guarantee the best possible rest and recovery from the everyday stresses of life back home. In the evenings you can warm up in the sauna. Be sure to keep your eyes open at night: with a little luck, you will discover the polar lights (aka the Northern Lights) dancing above you.
Day 8: Departure
After a final breakfast, and a fond farewell to your lovely hosts and adorable huskies, you will be transferred to the airport and from there you will start your onward journey. You will take with you so many wonderful memories, and return home feeling truly relaxed and refreshed.
Accommodation
You will be accommodated in cosy log cabins which sleep 2 people per cabin. The cabins are rustically designed and equipped with a small stove, a kitchenette, a dry toilet and a veranda with stunning views over the lake. Toilet and shower facilities are located in the main house, about 50 m away.
Single supplement
Are you travelling alone? No problem! On this tour, you can choose the option for a "single room" and occupy a log cabin for yourself. A single supplement charge of €150 applies.

This involves both adjustments due to insufficient snow (meaning we cannot drive the sleds) or too much snow (snowstorms and extreme cold can cause accidents and various other problems). The required adjustments and fallback options in rare cases are based on the day-to-day conditions and can be compensated by shorter or longer daily stages, alternative accommodations, or even single day trips. In extremely rare cases we may organise alternative transport (ie. cars, quad bikes, etc).
