Aurora trip to the Yukon - Northern Lights pure: The itinerary
Day 1: Arrival
Upon arrival at Whitehorse Airport, you will receive a warm welcome and be transferred to your hotel in the city center, which is within walking distance of all major attractions, restaurants, banks, and shops. After checking in, there will be an informative meeting where you will learn everything you need to know about the upcoming activities and can sign up for optional tours. Afterwards, you can relax and explore the area. If desired, you will be provided with pre-booked winter clothing to ensure you are well equipped for the cold temperatures. The evening is yours to spend at your leisure: explore the city on your own and dine at one of the many restaurants. At 10:00 p.m., you will set off to observe the aurora borealis. In a cozy, heated tent or cabin outside the city, hot drinks and snacks await you to make your stay even more enjoyable. Now it's time to wait and hope that the dancing green to purple lights will soon appear in the starry night sky. You will return to the hotel around 2:00 a.m.
Day 2: Whitehorse City Tour and Aurora Viewing
Sleep in before the city tour begins at 10:00 a.m., during which you will visit some of Whitehorse's most famous sights, including Main Street, the White Pass and Yukon Route railway station, the Log Skyscraper, the Log Church, the SS Klondike sternwheel ferry, the Fish Ladder, picturesque Schwatka Lake, and several residential areas. After an eventful morning, the afternoon is yours to spend at your leisure, with optional tours available to help you discover even more of the surrounding area. In the evening at 10:00 p.m., you will set off again to observe the aurora. Hot drinks and snacks will be waiting for you in the heated cabin or tent as usual. You can sit around the campfire and exchange stories while you wait for the natural spectacle. You will return to the hotel around 2:00 a.m.

Day 3 & 4: Free Time and Aurora Viewing
The third day of your trip begins with a relaxed morning that you can spend however you like. Use the time to have breakfast or simply enjoy the peaceful surroundings. There are various optional tours available for you to further explore the winter landscape (see “Extras”). It is best to book these in advance to guarantee availability. Whether it's dog sledding, snowmobiling, ice fishing, or snowshoeing, there are many exciting activities you can try. At 10:00 p.m., you will be picked up again for northern lights viewing, giving you another opportunity to admire the magical lights in the night sky and capture this special moment with your camera.
Day 5: Departure
After a final morning at your hotel, it's time to say goodbye. A free shuttle will take you to Whitehorse Airport, where you will begin your return journey. With many unforgettable memories of the breathtaking beauty of the Northern Lights and your experiences in the Yukon, you will hopefully remember this trip fondly for a long time to come.

Additional Information:
The order of tours and activities within this itinerary may vary due to weather conditions and other contributing factors that must be taken into account by the guides when planning your tour. You will receive the exact order of activities once you arrive on site. The far north can have fluctuating and unpredictable weather with very strong temperature differences. The safety of guests and animals comes first, and for this reason, we reserve the right to change the itinerary and intensity of activities if and when needed. This involves both adjustments due to insufficient snow (meaning we cannot drive the sleds) or too much snow (snowstorms and extreme cold can cause accidents and various other problems). The required adjustments and fallback options in rare cases are based on the day-to-day conditions and can be compensated by shorter or longer daily stages, alternative accommodations, or even single day trips. In extremely rare cases we may organise alternative transport (ie. cars, quad bikes, etc). Feel free to contact us if you would like a more detailed assessment of this tour and travel period.
