Look forward to amazing days in the middle of the wilderness of Lapland. Together with the huskies, you will explore the beauty of nature, discover (with luck) animals like arctic foxes or reindeer in the wild and marvel at the mystical Northern Lights in the night sky. Step by step, you will learn how to steer a dog sled and create a special bond to the dogs over time, while imposing mountains, snowy forests and tranquil lakes stretch out around you. What are you waiting for? Let's go on an Arctic adventure!
Arctic Husky Adventure in Finnish Lapland: The itinerary
Day 1: Arrival
Your adventure begins with your arrival at Ivalo Airport, where your experienced guide will welcome you. As you are transferred to your accommodation, you will get your first glimpse of the fascinating culture of Finish Lapland, with exciting insider tips on local attractions. Finally, once you arrive at your destination, you can recover from the journey and prepare for the days ahead.

After a delicious breakfast, you will be taken to the mushers camp to learn how to handle a dog sled and prepare everything for the upcoming tour. You will be greeted by the excited dogs, who can't wait for the departure. After you have been taught how to steer the sled, the necessary equipment has been stowed away, and you have enjoyed one last coffee, the time has finally come. With your own team, consisting of 4 to 8 dogs, you will glide through the Arctic landscapes and feel the unbridled freedom of the untouched wilderness. Once you arrive at a lumber cottage, your accommodation for the night, you take care of the dogs and set up camp together. You will have earned your own dinner afterwards! To round off the day, you can relax in a Finnish sauna and gather new strength for the coming adventures. If the sky is clear, it's worth looking up: Maybe the colorful Northern Lights are waiting for you there?
Day 3 & 4: Through the wilderness of Finnish Lapland
The next days are full of exciting husky tours through the winter wilderness. You will steer your dogs through snowy forests, across frozen lakes and along impressive mountain ranges. Be ready for a lot of new adventures and unforgettable moments! On the fourth day, you will return to the mushers camp and from there be taken to your lodging, where you can spend the evening relaxing.
Day 5: Farewell & Journey Home
Today, unfortunately, the moment has come to say goodbye. You will be taken back to Ivalo airport, where you will continue your journey home. Surely, you have a lot to tell your loved ones at home.
Accommodation:
During the husky tour, you will spend the nights in shared wooden cabins in the middle of nowhere in Finnish Lapland. Please note that the cabins do not have running water or electricity! The night before and after the husky tour is spent in a cozy wooden holiday home with 5 double bedrooms, a shared living room with fireplace, a shared kitchen and a shared bathroom. In addition, there is a sauna in the accommodation.
Additional Information:
The safety of our guests and animals is our top priority on all of our tours. The far north can have fluctuating and unpredictable weather with very strong temperature differences. Whilst we strive to follow the planned trails as closely as possible, we reserve the right to change the order of activities, the route of safaris, and the intensity of the excursions should the needs of our guests or animals necessitate it, or if the weather conditions compromise our pre-planned route. This involves both adjustments due to insufficient snow (meaning we cannot drive the sleds) or too much snow (snowstorms and extreme cold can cause accidents and various other problems). The required adjustments and fallback options in rare cases are based on the day-to-day conditions and can be compensated by shorter or longer daily stages, alternative accommodations, or even single day trips. In extremely rare cases we may organise alternative transport (ie. cars, quad bikes, etc). Feel free to contact us if you would like a more detailed assessment of this tour and travel period.
