Husky Expedition to the Arctic Sea: The Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and dinner
Arrival and dinner at 7:00 PM. Your guide will greet you and provide an overview of the upcoming days. Use this opportunity to ask questions and prepare for the journey ahead. This first day is crucial for preparation and gives you the opportunity to familiarize yourself with the group and the guide.
Day 2: Husky expedition preparation
The second day is dedicated to the provision of your personal equipment. Snowsuits, boots, and other gear will be provided and fitted. You will learn the basics of caring for your Husky team and driving the sled. This day is critical to ensure a safe and enjoyable journey.
Day 3 - 9: Off the beaten tracks: Your artic sea husky experience
With your "own" team of 6 dogs, we set the compass northwest and reach the mountain plateau on the very same day - a fascinating, sparse, and wind-swept landscape. We will break our own trail and continue the journey. During these days, we will also pass the "Stabbursdalen" valley. Here, you will have the opportunity to try ice fishing and admire the incomparable beauty of the Arctic Sea. You will move further off the beaten path, fully enjoying the freedom that sled dogs offer. Depending on weather and dog sledding condition you will reach the cosy house "Stenbukt" located in a remote bay right on the sea on day 8 or 9 to enjoy the isolated location. What an amazing and unforgettable once in a lifetime experience.
Day 10: Return to the Lodge
On this day, we return to the road and drive back to the Engholm Husky Lodge in Karasjok by car. Upon return to the lodge, a delicious dinner in a warm atmosphere awaits you. A cozy, wood-heated sauna and an outdoor hot tub are ready upon request for those interested. You might even spot the Northern Lights!
Day 11: Departure
The program ends with a hearty breakfast. Use the opportunity to reflect on the past days and the breathtaking experiences and impressions.
Accommodation: You will spend the nights in a tent and possibly in a cabin. Our secluded fishing cabin "Stenbukt" on the Arctic Sea provides a cozy and secluded atmosphere with no neighbors.

Additional Information:
The safety of our guests and animals is our top priority on all of our tours. The far north can have fluctuating and unpredictable weather with very strong temperature differences. Whilst we strive to follow the planned trails as closely as possible, we reserve the right to change the order of activities, the route of safaris, and the intensity of the excursions should the needs of our guests or animals necessitate it, or if the weather conditions compromise our pre-planned route. This involves both adjustments due to insufficient snow (meaning we cannot drive the sleds) or too much snow (snowstorms and extreme cold can cause accidents and various other problems). The required adjustments and fallback options in rare cases are based on the day-to-day conditions and can be compensated by shorter or longer daily stages, alternative accommodations, or even single day trips. In extremely rare cases we may organise alternative transport (ie. cars, quad bikes, etc). Feel free to contact us if you would like a more detailed assessment of this tour and travel period. The service providers and tour providers always perform their services in compliance with and in accordance with the official requirements and requirements applicable at the time of stay. Note: We recommend booking additional categories and guided activities directly with the tour package (several weeks or months before arrival), as these may be fully booked at the time of travel.
