Day 3: Cross Country Skiing Tour and Husky Safari
Start your day with a rich hearty breakfast. After a short introduction, your cross-country skiing excursion will begin and you will make your way into the wilderness of Finland. The cross-country skiing introduction will last for approximately two hours and includes a short skiing trip through the nearby surroundings. Breathe in the fresh air and enjoy beautiful views - the perfect combination of exercise and relaxation with breathtaking scenery. After safety instructions and an introduction to dog sledding, you will meet your excited husky team in the afternoon, who will greet you with great anticipation! The overall husky introduction will last for 2-3 hours. During a first practice trip of about 13 km, you will guide your own husky team through the stunning wilderness of Finland. Build a bond with these fascinating animals and enjoy the gorgeous scenery that surrounds you. Back at the hotel you can relax in your private sauna.
Day 4: Husky day safari
Today, after breakfast, you will once again be back on the slopes of your husky sled. The Huskies will be very happy to see you again and cannot wait to set out on another adventure tour of Finland's nature! Enjoy the silence, which is interrupted only by the paws of the huskies crunching on the snow cover. The 30 km long route will take you through snowy forests and fields and over frozen lakes. Lunch is prepared for you over an open fire and enjoyed together with a fantastic view. Look forward to a hearty, warm meal in the evening and keep your eyes open: with a bit of luck, you may be able to see the Northern Lights!
Day 5: Snowmobile Safari
An experience of a very special kind awaits you today! After some safety instructions, an exhilarating trip on a snowmobile will take you racing through the unique nature of Finnish Lapland. At high speed, you will let the beauty of the wilderness pass you by and enjoy lunch prepared for you by the campfire. After an adventurous trip, the hotel will give you time to relax and enjoy a traditional Finnish dinner.
Day 6: Snowshoe hike
Start the day with a hearty breakfast, then put on your snowshoes and head out to explore your surroundings and actively experience the far north. Marvel at the breathtaking nature and learn to read animal tracks. Your guide will provide you with plenty of interesting information about life in the wild. During a break, you can enjoy coffee and tea at a campfire. In the afternoon, you will have some free time, which can be used however you like. You can, for example, visit the smoke sauna or spend the evening chasing the Northern Lights (both included in the travel price). The Northern Lights storytelling event will take place in the evening, allowing you to get a deep insight into the science and culture of the Northern Lights and learn all about the myths surrounding them. This will take place in a traditional Kota, where you can enjoy the evening with a hot drink by a warm fire.
Day 7: Visit to the reindeer farm
After a hearty breakfast, a visit to a reindeer farm is scheduled for today! Get to know these fascinating animals and gain a unique insight into the traditional way of life of reindeer herding. Listen to the stories of the farm owner and enjoy coffee and snacks in a relaxed atmosphere. You will also get the chance to get up close and personal with the reindeer and have the opportunity to take some great photos that will remind you of this experience for a long time! Finish your last day with a relaxing sauna session and a home-cooked dinner.
Day 8: Departure
After breakfast, you will be transferred back to the airport from where you will start your onward journey, leaving with countless new experiences and unique memories that you will not forget so soon!
Accommodation:
You will spend the nights in a cosy double room with a private sauna. The hotel is built entirely of wood and conveys a traditional and authentic atmosphere. Located directly on Lake Jokijätvi, this is the perfect starting point for your unique excursions. Each room has its own main entrance, separate sleeping and living area, toilet, shower, and private sauna. After mid-January, it is also possible to stay in an igloo for one night (depending on the weather conditions).
Additional Information:
The order of tours and activities within this itinerary may vary due to weather conditions and other contributing factors that must be taken into account by the guides when planning your tour. You will receive the exact order of activities once you arrive on site. The far north can have fluctuating and unpredictable weather with very strong temperature differences. The safety of guests and animals comes first, and for this reason, we reserve the right to change the itinerary and intensity of activities if and when needed. This involves both adjustments due to insufficient snow (meaning we cannot drive the sleds) or too much snow (snowstorms and extreme cold can cause accidents and various other problems). The required adjustments and fallback options in rare cases are based on the day-to-day conditions and can be compensated by shorter or longer daily stages, alternative accommodations, or even single day trips. In extremely rare cases we may organise alternative transport (ie. cars, quad bikes, etc). Feel free to contact us if you would like a more detailed assessment of this tour and travel period. The service providers and tour providers always perform their services in compliance with and in accordance with the official requirements and requirements applicable at the time of stay. For this reason, corona-related reasonable usage rules or restrictions may arise when using said services. Please note these official requirements (Google Translate).
