Day 1: Arrive in Helsinki, Finland
Your Arctic adventure journey begins in Helsinki, a city known for its exceptional architecture and fascinating blend of Eastern and Western influences. If you arrive early, you have the opportunity to explore the numerous museums, galleries, and restaurants the city has to offer. You might also want to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of a Finnish sauna or stroll through the lively Design District, which delights with its creative shops and innovative designs. After an eventful day, you can retreat to your included hotel and reflect on the day's impressions.
 
Day 2: Fly to Longyearbyen, Svalbard and Embark
This morning, the group will be taken to the airport to board our private charter flight to Longyearbyen, the largest settlement on Spitsbergen. Once your ship sets sail, you can enjoy the first glimpse of the impressive glacier-covered mountains of the island, majestically rising from the icy waters. This impressive backdrop provides a remarkable start to your journey as you take in the rugged beauty of the Arctic landscape. The clear, fresh air and pristine nature create a unique atmosphere that will captivate you as you prepare for the upcoming adventure.
 
Day 3 to 13: Exploring Spitsbergen
Every day holds a new adventure as we begin our journey and move north and around the island of Spitsbergen to explore the smaller, offshore islands that shape the landscape. Our plan is to circumnavigate Spitsbergen, but if conditions are favorable, we will also attempt a larger circumnavigation of the archipelago, including many of the outer islands of the Svalbard archipelago. Each expedition will be unique, shaped by the ever-changing weather and ice conditions, but some of the places we may visit include the 14th of July Glacier, Ny-London, Phippsøya, Alkefjellet, and the rarely visited Kvitøya. These names may seem unfamiliar, but each place offers its own special charm. Spitsbergen is a place of unparalleled natural beauty, where vibrant tundra meadows stand against the backdrop of massive glaciers. For birdwatchers, the 14th of July Bay is a paradise, home to puffins, purple sandpipers, kittiwakes, pink-footed geese, and barnacle geese, while the cliffs of Alkefjellet are enlivened by nesting thick-billed murres. Always on the lookout for wildlife, keep your camera ready to photograph reindeer as we visit places like Ny-London, Sundneset, and Alkhornet. A key part of experiencing Spitsbergen is understanding its history—not only how people live today but also how this land was first explored. Whaling was a key industry, and you will see remnants of outposts from the 16th century, along with other evidence of whaling at landing sites like Smeerenburg.
 
Day 14: Disembark in Longyearbyen and Fly to Helsinki
Your adventure ends in the frontier-style settlement of Longyearbyen, a place known for its unique atmosphere and impressive surroundings. Here, amidst the rugged and impressive landscape shaped by the Arctic wilderness, you will enjoy the final moments of your journey. From this fascinating place, we organize your transfer to the airport to ensure your return journey is as smooth as possible. You will fly back to Helsinki with a group charter flight included in the transfer package. This final leg of your journey offers you the opportunity to reflect on the experiences and impressions of the past days as you prepare for the return flight to the Finnish capital.
