This Arctic expedition cruise departs from Longyearbyen on the Norwegian Svalbard archipelago and circumnavigates Spitzbergen. The route may be adjusted depending on weather and ice conditions, and visits to remote locations such as Kvitøya are possible but not guaranteed, as the island is often surrounded by sea ice. The voyage combines wildlife observation, onshore activities, and informative programmes on the region’s fauna, geology, and environment, and is designed for those wishing to learn about the Arctic and its dynamics.

Expedition Highlights:

High Arctic Wildlife:
With some luck, you may encounter a variety of Arctic wildlife during the voyage. West and North Spitzbergen are among the richest wildlife areas in the European Arctic. Species that may be observed include:
- Polar bears, particularly along the ice edge
- Walruses, particularly on Kvitøya
Arctic foxes
- Svalbard reindeer
- Seal species such as bearded seals and ringed seals
- Various whale species, including belugas and harbour porpoises
- Large seabird colonies including kittiwakes, guillemots, and puffins
- Each Zodiac outing and landing provides new opportunities for wildlife observation – from ice edges and glacier bays to remote bird cliffs

Life Onboard:
Onboard your expedition vessel, you will enjoy a personal atmosphere with comfort and convenience. Between daily landings and Zodiac excursions, there is time to relax, attend lectures, and interact with fellow travellers. Full board is included, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as a 24-hour water, tea, and coffee station and Wi-Fi access. Welcome and farewell cocktails complete the onboard experience. For all outdoor activities, you will receive a warm, weatherproof expedition jacket (parka) to keep. Sturdy rubber boots are available for loan, and a reusable water bottle is provided for excursions.
