Day 1: Arrival
Depending on the option you choose, you will either be picked up at one of the airports in Rovaniemi, Kemi or Luleå or travel to your destination in Kukkola on your own. If you've booked the transfer from Rovaniemi airport, you will visit the Arctic Circle and Santa Claus either on arrival or departure day. Once you arrive, you will move into your cozy accommodation for the upcoming week of adventure. During a delicious dinner and welcome meeting you will get to know the other guests and your hosts.
Meals start with dinner on the first day and end with breakfast on the last day.

Day 2: On snowshoes through your personal winter dream
Strengthened by a delicious breakfast, you will go on a special kind of hike with your guide. On snowshoes, the traditional way of locomotion of the Swedes, you will explore the magnificent winter wonderland. If you're lucky, you'll even spot some animal paw prints in the snow. After the hike, you will have the opportunity to relax in the sauna. Enjoy a excellent dinner and look forward to the chance to see magical Northern Lights dancing in the sky.
Day 3: Visit of a sled dog farm and husky tour
After breakfast, you will take a bus to a nearby husky farm where you will learn all about the adorable dogs and their training program. Afterwards you will get to know the happy cuddly animals in person and feel the freedom during an approximately one-hour ride on a dog sled. You will share a sled in pairs. After the tour, you will make yourself comfortable with salmon soup and coffee by the fire in a hut. The total duration of this excursion, including transfer, is about five hours. In the evening, you will strengthen yourself with dinner in the restaurant before heading outside again to look for the Northern Lights in the dark night sky.
Day 4: Relaxation & tranquillity
There are no activities on your program today, so you can explore the surroundings on your own or snuggle in with a good book. If you wish, you can take part in an exciting snowmobile safari through the wilderness for an extra charge. In this case, you will enjoy lunch during a stop on the way. Please contact us in advance if your're interested. Everyone else will receive their lunch in the accommodation's beautiful restaurant. In the afternoon, you can look forward to a few relaxing hours in the sauna and outdoor hot tub before it's time for dinner.
Day 5: Day off
This day is at your free disposal and can be used for other optional program items, such as a visit to a reindeer farm with sleigh ride followed by a guided tour and shopping in the twin town of Haparanda/Tornio, where you can stand in two countries and time zones at the same time. Customize this day to your liking and round it off with an outstanding dinner.
Day 6: Another day at leisure
You will again have the opportunity to organise the day according to your own ideas. You can choose from various activities under "Extras" or simply relax. In the evening, another dinner and a restful night in beautiful Sweden await you. Take another chance to look for the Northern Lights! A short walk to the cultural village is perfect for unique pictures against a dreamlike backdrop.
Day 7: Whitefish Grilling
Today is all about the culinary traditions of the area, which have been shaped by the Kukkola rapids. Ice fishing is offered as an optional activity in the morning for an extra charge. After this, you will meet for lunch together, where fresh local whitefish is grilled over an open fire in a Timber Smoke Hut. The village of Kukkola is famous for this! The fish is put on a stick and then grilled over an open fire. The Timber Smoke Hut, one of the oldest buildings in the cultural village of Kukkola, dates back to the 1700's. Listen to stories of the local fishing culture while the fish is grilled. "Tunnbröd" (Swedish hard bread) and hot juice will be served as well. Should there be no whitefish you will grill fresh salmon.
Day 8: Say goodbye
Your Swedish winter holidays are sadly over after a final breakfast. Take your time to say goodbye before you start your journey home. In your luggage: memories and experiences of a wonderful time in picturesque Kukkola.
Accommodation:
You will be accommodated in cozy rooms or bungalows with a private bathroom. If desired, you can book a bungalow with a sauna or a bungalow junior suite with a fireplace. Are you traveling alone? No problem. On this tour you can choose the "single room" option (extra charge) and occupy a hotel room for yourself. The shared sauna is available every day free of charge.
Important information:
The tour is suitable for children from 4 years old. Children under the age of 18 are generally not allowed to lead their own husky team. This is always at the discretion of the guides. Children who are not allowed to drive themselves will ride in the guide sled. To drive a snowmobile you must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver's license.
Arrival and departure:
The transfer is not included on this trip, but can be added for an extra charge from Luleå, Rovaniemi or Kemi airports or the town of Haparanda/Tornio. Alternatively, you can travel by flight bus from the airport in Luleå, airport taxi from Kemi or other public transportation. A night train is also available from Stockholm Arlanda airport or the city centre.
Additional Information:
The order of tours and activities within this itinerary may vary due to weather conditions and other contributing factors that must be taken into account by the guides when planning your tour. You will receive the exact order of activities once you arrive on site. The far north can have fluctuating and unpredictable weather with very strong temperature differences. The safety of guests and animals comes first, and for this reason, we reserve the right to change the itinerary and intensity of activities if and when needed. This involves both adjustments due to insufficient snow (meaning we cannot drive the sleds) or too much snow (snowstorms and extreme cold can cause accidents and various other problems). The required adjustments and fallback options in rare cases are based on the day-to-day conditions and can be compensated by shorter or longer daily stages, alternative accommodations, or even single day trips. In extremely rare cases we may organise alternative transport (ie. cars, quad bikes, etc). Feel free to contact us if you would like a more detailed assessment of this tour and travel period. The service providers and tour providers always perform their services in compliance with and in accordance with the official requirements and requirements applicable at the time of stay. For this reason, corona-related reasonable usage rules or restrictions may arise when using said services. Please note these official requirements (Google Translate). Show all dates
