Group size 2~8 Persons
Escape the routine of everyday life for a while and experience the beauty of Lapland from a very special perspective: from your own dog sled. Let your husky team take you into the wilderness and enjoy the surrounding silence, which is interrupted only by the paws of your faithful companions on the snow. Lapland's wilderness will quickly enchant you, and with a bit of luck, you will see the Northern Lights dancing across the night sky! Enjoy eventful days on your dog sled and dreamy evenings under the dancing lights and starlit sky.
Day 1: Arrival
Take the train or a flight to Kiruna, where your one-hour transfer to the husky farm awaits. Move into your own authentic wooden cabin right on the farm and settle in. The rustic accommodation is equipped with a wood-fired oven and electricity, the outdoor toilet is behind the cabin and there is a sauna where you can wash yourself on the premises. Enjoy a welcome dinner with the rest of your tour group, where your guide will discuss the schedule for the upcoming days with you.
The on-site travel services begin with dinner on the first day and end with breakfast on the last day.
Day 2: The first sled tour
After breakfast, the adventure begins! Look forward to the exciting day ahead and meet the friendly huskies for the first time. You will be thoroughly instructed in the handling of sled dogs and the knowledge of dogsledding, and then the dog teams will be introduced and you prepare your sleds together. Then you head off on the first tour of the trip! Experience the breathtaking nature of Swedish Lapland and let your own sled dog team pull you through the wilderness. On the way, you take a break and prepare a simple Swedish wilderness lunch. You can enjoy moose meat, locally caught fish, or reindeer. In the afternoon you return to the farm.

Day 3 & 4: Through the last wilderness of Lapland
Over these days you will travel over frozen lakes and through the forests of Lapland. You will be able to enjoy the majestic beauty of this frozen wilderness, exploring the scenic nature with your faithful dogs. No two days will be the same and you will see many different sceneries on your adventure! You head to a beautiful secluded wilderness cabin which will be your camp for the night. Spend your evening enjoying a soothing traditional sauna and keeping your eye out for the spectacular Northern Lights. Your chances to see the breathtaking natural light display out here in the wilderness is quite high, as you are far away from light pollution. Note that each tour is adapted to the weather conditions because a diverse tour programme and the safety for participants and dogs is very important. Stay overnight in the wilderness camp with no running water or electricity and return to the husky farm in the afternoon of the 4th day.
Day 5: Discover Lapland
This day is at leisure. If you wish, you can book a snowshoe hike, ice fishing or a snowmobile tour on site. Of course, you can also go on another sled dog ride (for an extra charge).
Day 6: Departure
After a final breakfast together, you will say goodbye to Kiruna and head back to the airport, where you will catch your onward flight. You will leave with plenty of fantastic memories to cherish and great stories to tell when you arrive back home!
Single room at the husky farm for an extra charge, not possible during the wilderness overnight
Accommodation:
On the husky farm you will be accommodated in a simple and cosy wooden cabin without running water. The cabin has electricity as well as a wood-fired oven and sleeping space for max. two people. The toilet is located outside of the log cabin. The sauna, which is located on the husky farm, provides traditional washing facilities. Groups of 3 or more can be accommodated in the guest house with two bedrooms (one with 4 beds and the second with 2 beds) if available for an extra charge. The guest house is equipped with a shower room, a toilet, and a kitchen. Please feel free to contact us if you are interested. The wilderness cabin is a shared accommodation without running water or electricity.
Traveller Requirements:
This sled dog trip is an active holiday and requires not only a good level of fitness but also teamwork. During the wilderness overnight stay, activities such as collecting water, chopping wood, cooking, and caring for the dogs are organized and carried out together as a team. Fear of contact with dogs is hindering. If you enjoy the simple life, without luxury and with simple standards, this program is just right for you. Activities such as heating the sauna and your own cabin are part of the daily routine. The daily schedule can vary in its order.
Additional Information:
The order of tours and activities within this itinerary may vary due to weather conditions and other contributing factors that must be taken into account by the guides when planning your tour. You will receive the exact order of activities once you arrive on site. The far north can have fluctuating and unpredictable weather with very strong temperature differences. The safety of guests and animals comes first, and for this reason, we reserve the right to change the itinerary and intensity of activities if and when needed. This involves both adjustments due to insufficient snow (meaning we cannot drive the sleds) or too much snow (snowstorms and extreme cold can cause accidents and various other problems). The required adjustments and fallback options in rare cases are based on the day-to-day conditions and can be compensated by shorter or longer daily stages, alternative accommodations, or even single day trips. In extremely rare cases we may organise alternative transport (ie. cars, quad bikes, etc). Feel free to contact us if you would like a more detailed assessment of this tour and travel period. The service providers and tour providers always perform their services in compliance with and in accordance with the official requirements and requirements applicable at the time of stay. For this reason, corona-related reasonable usage rules or restrictions may arise when using said services. Please note these official requirements (Google Translate). Show all dates
