Guided Northern Lights Hunt

This evening tour takes you out of the city to some of the darkest and most aurora-friendly landscapes around Alta. You’ll keep an eye on the weather and the clouds, and adapt the route flexibly to head to where the sky clears and the lights can unfold. Along the way, your experienced local guide will share scientific insights and stories about the Northern Lights and help you capture the moment – whether with a camera or simply with your own eyes. There is no guarantee of seeing the Northern Lights, but this tour takes you further out into the countryside, keeps you warmer and gives you the best possible chance. The tour lasts approximately 4 hours and usually takes place in a van or minibus. Hot drinks and snacks are included, as are winter clothing if required and a limited selection of tripods. Departure is usually between 6.30 pm and 8.00 pm, depending on the forecast and location.
