"Immerse yourself in the world of reindeer herders!"
Nutti Sámi Siida started in 1996, a year in which the reindeer could not graze normally in the wild due to bad weather. So the owners, Nils Torbjörn Nutti and Carina Pingi, were forced to feed their reindeer in enclosures. Since the food they bought was expensive, the two reindeer herders started inviting tourists over to generate a little extra income. Slowly but surely, this business started to flourish.
Nutti Sámi Siida is located in the small town of Jukkasjärvi in northern Sweden. It’s very close to the famous Icehotel and the open-air museum Márkanbáiki, where you can learn everything about Sámi culture.
In addition to numerous activities with reindeer, Nutti Sámi Siida also offers accommodation. You can either stay in a traditional lávvu (tent) or in a cosy log cabin. The use of snowshoes and cross-country skis is included. You also have very good chances of seeing the Northern Lights here.
