Pure luxury with huskies and reindeer: Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival
After arriving at the airport, you will be transferred to your accommodation for the duration of your stay – the beautifully located Arctic Hilltop Boutique Hotel Iso-Syöte. After you have checked in, explore the amenities of your luxury hotel and enjoy the incredible views of Iso Syöte. Turn in early for a good night of sleep, so you are ready for your husky safari into the wilderness tomorrow.
Day 2: Husky safari (12 km) and visit to a husky farm by car
After a delicious breakfast, your transport to a husky farm awaits. At the husky farm, you will meet the team dogs, who will be delighted to see you. Your guide will give you all the necessary instructions that you will need to keep your dogs happy and safe, making for a better sled ride experience. You will also be equipped with a safari outfit. Then, you are ready to go on your exciting dog sledding adventure through the pristine landscapes of Finnish Lapland. The safari route covers approximately 12 km and goes through snowy forests and ice-covered lakes surrounding the husky farm. En route, there will be stops to switch drivers and to take photos. The husky tour will take approximately 2 to 2,5 hours including the return transfer from and back to the accommodation. After an eventful day, it’s time to unwind at Hotel Iso-Syöte. You can, for example, visit the hotel’s Arctic Spa, where you can relax in the sauna and pool. Access to the spa is included for guests. Spa treatments can be booked at an additional fee. With a little luck, you may also see the Northern Lights dancing across the night sky tonight.
Day 3: Reindeer safari in old fashioned style
Strengthen yourself with a hearty breakfast, ready for another fun-filled day ahead! Today, you will embark on a 2-hour reindeer safari (approximately 3 km). Sitting in a reindeer sleigh, you will travel through the winter wonderland of Finnish Lapland the old-fashioned Lappish way. Hot drinks like coffee and pulla, a traditional Finnish cardamon bread, are served in a “kota” hut. Here, you can also fry a sausage by the fire for lunch while the reindeer herder tells stories about the year of the reindeer. Also included is a safari outfit. End the day relaxing at the hotel and let yourself be enchanted by the fantastic views in this incredible environment.
Day 4: Free day
Today is at your leisure. Decide for yourself whether you would like to relax at the hotel or book one of the many additional activities the hotel offers at an additional charge. See the “Extras” section for options. You can, for example, take an excursion to Ranua zoo and Santa’s Village in Rovaniemi. A bus will take you from the hotel to the park, where you will have two hours to explore the zoo. Afterwards, you will head to Rovaniemi near the Polar Circle and visit the famous Santa Claus Village. There are many souvenir and Finnish design / handicraft shops to check out. If you want, you can also meet Santa himself! Also available is an ice fishing trip to a frozen lake including the return transfer to and from the lake by car. Try yourself at this traditional Finnish winter activity and warm up with an included coffee break by the open fire. If you feel the need for speed, you can book a snowmobile safari that takes you from the hotel down and up the Iso Syöte hill.
Day 5: Departure
Sadly, all good things must come to an end! After a delicious breakfast, you will head back to the airport, ready for your onward journey. We will be sad to see you go, but we can guarantee that you will leave feeling re-energised and refreshed; taking many unforgettable memories with you as you board the plane.

Additional Information:
The order of tours and activities within this itinerary may vary due to weather conditions and other contributing factors that must be taken into account by the guides when planning your tour. You will receive the exact order of activities once you arrive on site. The far north can have fluctuating and unpredictable weather with very strong temperature differences. The safety of guests and animals comes first, and for this reason, we reserve the right to change the itinerary and intensity of activities if and when needed. This involves both adjustments due to insufficient snow (meaning we cannot drive the sleds) or too much snow (snowstorms and extreme cold can cause accidents and various other problems). The required adjustments and fallback options in rare cases are based on the day-to-day conditions and can be compensated by shorter or longer daily stages, alternative accommodations, or even single day trips. In extremely rare cases we may organise alternative transport (ie. cars, quad bikes, etc).
