Experience magical northern lights on the outskirts of Santa Claus Town in Finnish Lapland.
Look forward to a break in the far north and experience the natural wonders that this region has to offer! Spend the night in various Aurora accommodations with glass roofs (see “Extras”) and arrange the day's program according to your own taste. Take part in an adventurous husky sleigh ride, go on night-time snowmobile, reindeer- or horse-drawn carriage rides or relax in the comfort of your special accommodation while the stars twinkle above you and hopefully a few northern lights dance in the sky.
Northern Lights Getaway - the itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival
On this trip you can arrive on any day of the week, just check for good flight connections from your nearest airport and let us know your preferred arrival day!
When you arrive in Rovaniemi, you will be welcomed at the airport or train station and after only a ten-minute drive you will arrive at your resort for the next few days in the middle of Finnish Lapland! You can now settle into your glass igloo in peace and look forward to the many adventures of the far north.
Day 2 & 3: Northern Lights, relaxation and activities of your own choice
During your stay in wintry Finland, you can enjoy a extensive breakfast buffet every day. Then start the day as you wish! Book exciting and varied activities (see “Extras”), relax in your Aurora glass-roofed cabin or explore the fairytale-like surroundings on your own and enjoy the tranquillity of Lapland's wilderness.

There are countless adventures waiting for you, which you can put together individually to experience your dream vacation in Lapland. From a husky tour through the endless expanse of Finland, an adrenaline-filled ride on a snowmobile, a more leisurely and traditional ride on a reindeer- or horse-drawn sleigh, to unique aurora activities and culinary experiences in the traditional Lappish restaurant Aitta: this weekend in the far north will be unforgettable!

Day 4: Departure
After a last delicious breakfast, it is time to say goodbye to Lapland. A driver will take you back to the airport, from where you will start your journey home with many new impressions and memories.
During the winter season from December to April, Finnish Lapland is a true winter wonderland where there is never a shortage of activities. From dining at the traditional Lappish restaurant Aitta to various adventures, you will certainly not be bored during your stay.
There is a free giant tube slide on the premises and a frozen lake right next to the resort, which invites you to take an afternoon walk on its thick layers of ice. There is a large campfire in the courtyard, which is lit every evening for you to relax by. Building snowmen, sledging or simply strolling around the beautiful resort and taking photos - the list of possibilities is long!
Accommodation
There are different types of accommodation, from Aurora Cabins to cozy two-storey cabins with glass roofs. The prices quoted are always for the cheapest accommodation per person in a double room with an occupancy of two people. Single travelers must pay for the entire accommodation, i.e. double the price. Take a look at the various options with pictures and descriptions of the accommodation under “Extras”.
Catering
A daily breakfast buffet in the restaurant is included. If you wish, you can also book the lunch and dinner buffet.
In the restaurant you can also order your meals à la carte in the evening. You can also book a special 3-course menu, which is prepared over an open fire in a traditional Finnish kota (barbecue hut).
Activities
You can choose the activities during this trip yourself. Take a look at the various options under “Extras” and let us know if you would like to add anything to your stay. The group size varies depending on the activity. For experiences such as dog sledding or snowmobile tours, the number of participants is usually 12-16 people, for some other activities it can be up to 40 participants in exceptional cases.
Note
To drive a snowmobile, you must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver's license. Children under the age of 14 ride in a sledge behind the guidemobile.

The order of tours and activities within this itinerary may vary due to weather conditions and other contributing factors that must be taken into account by the guides when planning your tour. You will receive the exact order of activities once you arrive on site. The far north can have fluctuating and unpredictable weather with very strong temperature differences. The safety of guests and animals comes first, and for this reason, we reserve the right to change the itinerary and intensity of activities if and when needed. This involves both adjustments due to insufficient snow (meaning we cannot drive the sleds) or too much snow (snowstorms and extreme cold can cause accidents and various other problems). The required adjustments and fallback options in rare cases are based on the day-to-day conditions and can be compensated by shorter or longer daily stages, alternative accommodations, or even single day trips. In extremely rare cases we may organise alternative transport (ie. cars, quad bikes, etc). Feel free to contact us if you would like a more detailed assessment of this tour and travel period.
Note: We recommend booking additional categories and guided activities directly with the tour package (several weeks or months before arrival), as these may be fully booked at the time of travel. Some activities are only available on certain dates and not for the entire season.
