Northern Lights Christmas in Norway: The itinerary
Day 1: Arrival & Northern Lights Experience
Your Christmas adventure begins with your arrival in Tromsø, from where you will be taken to the Lyngen Experience Lodge between 15:30 and 16:00. There, you can settle into your cosy double room and enjoy a delicious dinner. Afterwards, the first highlight of this tour awaits you: a Northern Lights experience! Depending on the weather conditions, this will either take you to a tent in the forest to marvel at the Northern Lights from there or by car to another ideal location for observation. Far away from any light pollution, you have the best opportunity to experience the impressive natural spectacle surrounded by the silence of the Arctic night.
Catering starts with dinner on the first day and ends with breakfast on the last day.

After a hearty breakfast, you will go whale watching today. On board a boat, you will travel to the places where the majestic sea giants have been spotted. Listen to the gentle sound of the waves and get to know Norway from a completely new perspective along the way. In the evening, a festive Christmas dinner awaits you, prepared with local and seasonal ingredients.
Day 3: Winter snowshoe hike
On this day, you strap on your snowshoes after breakfast and set off on a tour through the area and its snow-covered forests. The hike takes you to breathtaking views and lets you enjoy the silence and untouched nature to the fullest. After your time in the fresh and clean air, you will return to the lodge. How about relaxing in the sauna or jacuzzi before it's time for dinner?
Day 4: Snowmobile adventure
Thrills and adventure will be your companions today after breakfast. You will explore your impressive surroundings on a snowmobile and experience an incomparable feeling of freedom (2 people / snowmobile). The tour starts with easy trails where you can learn how to drive the snowmobile before the route leads you up the mountains. You will stop at several places along the way to enjoy the scenery and capture it in photos. The proximitiy to the sea in combination to the mighty mountains is a truely unique experience. In the evening, you can look forward to a well-deserved dinner. Afterwards, it is worth taking a look at the night sky. Perhaps the Northern Lights are waiting for you up there?
Day 5: With the huskies through northern Norway
One of the best adventures on this trip is definitely the husky safari, which you will set off on after breakfast. A 1.5-hour drive will take you to the husky kennel, where the dogs will be waiting for you full of anticipation. After an introduction and getting to know your husky team, you will guide your dog sled through the Norwegian winter landscape in pairs with the opportunity to switch drivers halfway. Not only will you get closer to nature, but you will also build up a special bond with the animals. The joy and energy of the huskies is indectious and you will eat your dinner at the lodge with a big smile on your face today. Afterwards, you can visit the sauna or whirlpool and lean back in the pleasant warmth while the Northern Lights perform their colorful dance in the sky.
Day 6: Farewell & Goodbye
After a final breakfast at the lodge, you will be transferred back to Tromsø, which you will reach at around 12:00. With many memories and beautiful photos, you will start your journey home, enriched by an unforgettable Christmas in the far north.

The Lyngen Experience Lodge not only offers you comfortable accommodation right by the water, with a view of the Ullsfjord, but also a unique feel-good atmosphere. Look forward to cosy double rooms with private bathrooms, the spa area with sauna and outdoor jacuzzi and the common room with large panoramic windows. The lodge is the perfect place to relax after an eventful day. The price refers to a double room with mountain view (per person) with an occupancy of 2 persons. The order of tours and activities within this itinerary may vary due to weather conditions and other contributing factors that must be taken into account by the guides when planning your tour. You will receive the exact order of activities once you arrive on site. The far north can have fluctuating and unpredictable weather with very strong temperature differences. The safety of guests and animals comes first, and for this reason, we reserve the right to change the itinerary and intensity of activities if and when needed. This involves both adjustments due to insufficient snow (meaning we cannot drive the sleds) or too much snow (snowstorms and extreme cold can cause accidents and various other problems). The required adjustments and fallback options in rare cases are based on the day-to-day conditions and can be compensated by shorter or longer daily stages, alternative accommodations, or even single day trips. In extremely rare cases we may organise alternative transport (ie. cars, quad bikes, etc). Feel free to contact us if you would like a more detailed assessment of this tour and travel period. Optional activities have very limited availability; we recommend booking them well in advance, often weeks or months before departure, as they may be fully booked by the time of travel.
