Ultimate Yukon adventure - including a scenic flight!
During this fun-packed 7 day / 6 night winter program, you will travel like a musher, dine like a fisherman, track like a stampeder, and explore like a local.
An incredible time of adventure and memorable moments awaits you on this journey through the last great wilderness in the Yukon. During a spectacular sightseeing flight above the surrounding area of Whitehorse, you will have a chance to see the grand landscape of the far north. You will explore the rich history of the Yukon during a city tour, watch local wildlife up-close at the Yukon Wildlife Preseve and relax in the soothing hot waters and sauna of the local hot springs. Learn how to mush with your team of huskies through the trails of the winter wonderland. Feel the rush of driving a snowmobile into the backcountry to magnificent viewpoints. Set your tracks during a snowshoeing tour among some of the most impressive landscapes and try your luck at ice fishing. On three evenings of your choice, you will travel just outside the city centre, but far enough from the city lights to an idyllic Northern Lights viewing location, the AuroraCentre.
Active Winter Adventure in the Yukon: The itinerary
Day 1: Arrival
Upon arrival at the airport, you will be transferred to your hotel in the centre of the historic town of Whitehorse. Use this day to explore the city on your own and spend some time relaxing at your leisure. You can look forward to plenty of exciting moments and adventures over the coming days!
Day 2: A Birds-Eye-View Of The Region
After a hearty breakfast, you will take a 30-minute scenic flight over the spectacular winter landscape. You will get to see the land from a truly unique perspective — a breathtaking panoramic view over the snow-capped Yukon. Back in Whitehorse, you will discover the history of Whitehorse on a city-sightseeing tour. Whitehorse has a lot to offer and is home to famous sights like the historic Paddlewheeler SS Klondike or a “Skyscraper” completely made out of logs. Later, you will be driven to the Yukon Wildlife Preserve where you can see local inhabitants like the Elk, Moose, Caribou, Mountain Goats and Lynx in their natural surroundings. Not far from here, you will visit the Eclipse Nordic Hot Springs and indulge yourself in the natural hot waters while relaxing in a breathtaking winter mountain setting. Later that evening you’ll be back on the road again to seek views of the stunning Northern Lights. Relax in sheltered comfort, or under the starry sky beside a warm fire at one of our tailor-made Aurora viewing locations.
Day 3: Enchanting Huskies Are Waiting for You
Fuel up with a filling breakfast, ready for an exciting day ahead! Today is the much-anticipated husky tour, where you will be gliding on the skids of a dog sled through the beautiful landscape of the Yukon. After a detailed briefing, make your way along pristine trails and experience the feeling of freedom on a dog sled. Your excited huskies will take you through snowy forests and over frozen lakes...an exhilarating activity bound to get the blood pumping! Back from the tour, head to one of the Downtown restaurants for local food and a beer from the famous Yukon brewery. Later in the evening, you and your hosts will lead you on a guided tour to the Aurora Centre, where you will hopefully observe the fascinating Northern Lights (including transfers, snacks and beverages).
Day 4: On Fast Tracks Through The Snow
After breakfast, you will drive to the mountains near Whitehorse for a detailed snowmobile safety introduction. While driving, you will pass the snow-covered mountains, over frozen lakes with a thick layer of ice, and through dense forests. Race through the wilderness and feel the rush of adrenaline as you glide through the untouched snow. Warm up in your hotel and watch out for the dancing Northern Lights in the night sky again on your second guided tour to the Aurora Viewing Centre.
Day 5: Fishing On A Frozen Lake
Today, you will head out for an ice fishing adventure on one of the beautiful lakes in the Whitehorse area. With the help of an ice-auger, you will drill a hole in the ice. The ice on a lake can be from 30 cm to one meter thick! Hot drinks will be available to keep you warm. Take a look around and enjoy the beauty of a winter’s day while waiting for the big catch! If you are lucky and catch a nice trout, your guide will fillet it and cook it on the fire. At the end of the day, you will return to Whitehorse with a record catch of great memories.
Day 6: Setting Track In Winter Wonderland
Snowshoeing is one of the best ways to enjoy the tranquility of the Yukon wilderness and to photograph the stunning Yukon landscape. On our half day snowshoeing tour, you will get to strap on a pair of lightweight modern snowshoes and experience the rugged backcountry just like the gold miners, trappers and fur traders of days gone by. During the tour, you will visit a scenic location in the Whitehorse area backcountry. Wildlife such as spruce grouse, foxes, coyotes and snowshoe hares is occasionally spotted at a distance.
Day 7: Departure
After the eventful days of the past week, you will return home with many wonderful memories and new experiences under your belt!

Additional Information:
The safety of our guests and animals is our top priority on all of our tours. The far north can have fluctuating and unpredictable weather with very strong temperature differences. Whilst we strive to follow the planned trails as closely as possible, we reserve the right to change the order of activities, the route of safaris, and the intensity of the excursions should the needs of our guests or animals necessitate it, or if the weather conditions compromise our pre-planned route. This involves both adjustments due to insufficient snow (meaning we cannot drive the sleds) or too much snow (snowstorms and extreme cold can cause accidents and various other problems). The required adjustments and fallback options in rare cases are based on the day-to-day conditions and can be compensated by shorter or longer daily stages, alternative accommodations, or even single day trips. In extremely rare cases we may organise alternative transport (ie. cars, quad bikes, etc). Feel free to contact us if you would like a more detailed assessment of this tour and travel period. The service providers and tour providers always perform their services in compliance with and in accordance with the official requirements and requirements applicable at the time of stay.
