Itinerary: Antarctic Express: Sail South, Fly North
Day 1: Ushuaia, Argentina
Your journey begins in Ushuaia at the southern tip of South America. Use the time to explore the town, visit local shops and restaurants, or discover the surrounding nature, such as Tierra del Fuego National Park.

Day 2: Embarkation Day
Embarkation takes place in the afternoon. Your ship sails through the scenic Beagle Channel. With a bit of luck, seabirds and seals may already be spotted here. The voyage offers an atmospheric introduction to the expedition ahead.
Day 3 & 4: Crossing the Drake Passage
The crossing of the Drake Passage is a classic part of any Antarctic journey. During these days at sea, you may relax on board or attend the first lectures presented by the expedition team. These sessions prepare you for the upcoming landings and Zodiac excursions and provide background knowledge about the wildlife and environment of the region. Upon crossing the Antarctic Convergence, you officially enter Antarctic waters.
Day 5 to 8: Antarctic Peninsula and South Shetland Islands
Over the following days, you explore the coastal regions of the Antarctic Peninsula and the South Shetland Islands. Vast icebergs, glaciers and snow-covered mountains shape the landscape. Regular shore landings and Zodiac cruises provide close encounters with the wildlife. Frequently sighted species include various penguins, seals, as well as minke and humpback whales. Depending on ice and weather conditions, your expedition team selects suitable landing sites. Possible destinations include Petermann Island with its calving glaciers or sheltered bays such as Neko Harbour. Each excursion offers new perspectives on the environment of the White Continent. An optional short Polar Plunge may also be available.
Day 9: Disembarkation and Fly to Punta Arenas
At the end of your sea voyage, you disembark on King George Island. From there, you take a flight across the Drake Passage to Punta Arenas, Chile. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and free time to relax and conclude your journey at your own pace.
Day 10: Depart for Home
Your expedition ends today. Return travel home or an optional extension of your stay in Punta Arenas.
Further Information: The expedition lasts 10 days and 9 nights. Various departures are available between February 2026 and February 2028. Should you have any questions regarding departure dates or options, we will be happy to assist you.
This journey offers memorable insights into the wildlife and landscapes of Antarctica. As places are limited, we recommend enquiring or booking early.

Optional activities have very limited availability; we recommend booking them well in advance, often weeks or months before departure, as they may be fully booked by the time of travel; their operation depends on weather, ice and safety conditions as well as minimum participation. Polar regions are remote and dynamic natural environments, therefore programme changes or delays may occur.
