Day 2: Embarkation Day
Today, you will board your charter flight to Antarctica. The journey over the Drake Passage will take less than four hours, while our guests traveling by ship will need two days to cover the distance by sea. Your first glimpse of Antarctica will be visible shortly before landing on King George Island—hope for clear skies so you can admire the vastness of this magnificent continent in all its glory! You will have some free time to photograph parts of the island and stretch your legs before boarding the ship. Once on board, enjoy your first Zodiac ride and begin your exploration of the Antarctic region.
 
Day 3 to 6: Antarctic Peninsula and South Shetland Islands
At the start of your Antarctic journey, you will feel as if you have arrived on a new planet, as the pristine nature and dramatic landscapes are unlike anything else on Earth. From the ship, you can watch whales swimming and feeding in nutrient-rich waters and spot penguins frolicking in the water and jumping onto ice floes. Equally impressive as the wildlife are the towering, snow-covered mountains and massive glaciers of the peninsula, which will be your playground for the next few days. Each Zodiac excursion and landing offers new sights, sounds, and smells. Some landings can be as relaxing as a beach visit, where you can photograph curious gentoo penguins. Other landings may offer impressive panoramic views of the Antarctic continent as you hike up a hill. You might witness a calving glacier crashing into the sea on Petermann Island or take a Zodiac ride in search of fur and elephant seals around Pleneau Island. Day 7 & 8: Crossing the Drake Passage to Ushuaia
A true initiation ritual for any Antarctic adventurer, crossing the Drake Passage marks the end of your journey. Regardless of the conditions at sea, you will benefit from the sea legs developed over the past four days. Even though the journey home has begun, your wildlife observation continues. Your expedition team will be available both on deck and on the ship's bridge to help you spot the majestic wandering albatross and various whale species, such as minke and humpback whales. When you're not looking at photos and reminiscing about the past days, the expedition team will conclude its series of captivating lectures on topics such as marine biology, polar history, and glaciology.
 
Day 9: Disembark and overnight in Ushuaia, Argentina
After enjoying a final breakfast on board the ship, it's time to bid farewell to the crew as we disembark in Ushuaia. This picturesque port, known as the southernmost city in the world, will be the setting for our farewell to the maritime journey. Once on solid ground, we will arrange the transfer to the hotel where you can check in and leave your belongings. With the rest of the day at your disposal, you will have the opportunity to explore this charming city at your own pace. Stroll through its streets, where local shops offer a variety of unique products and souvenirs. Don't forget to take time to admire the landscapes surrounding Ushuaia, with its mountains and the Beagle Channel as a backdrop. Additionally, you can delight in Argentine cuisine, famous for its intense and succulent flavors. Day 10: Depart for home
